条件状语从句表示在……条件下某事才能发生,从句是主句动作发生的前提或条件,通常由连词if引导,意为“如果”。

位置
用法
If引导的条件状语从句包含零条件句和第一条件句。
一般表示普遍存在的事实、真理或习惯行为。
条件成立时,结果必然出现,不存在任何不确定性。
零条件句:
第一条件句:
用于表示在特定条件下可能会发生的情况。
结果的实现是有条件的,且这个条件有实现的可能性。
Zero conditionals 零条件句
描述客观事实、自然规律、普遍真理或习惯性行为。
条件成立时,结果必然发生。
If + 一般现在时,主句 + 一般现在时。
e.g. If you heat water to 100°C, it boils.
如果你把水加热到100°C,它就会沸腾。
If the sun sets, it gets dark.
如果太阳落山,天就会变黑。

If + 一般现在时,主句 + 一般将来时。

主句用一般将来时,从句用情态动词,即“主情从现”。
If + 一般现在时,主句 +情态动词may, might, can, must, should等的句子。

1. 借助“祈使句+and/or+句子(一般将来时)”句型来转换。
and 在句意上表示顺承,意为“那么,就”;
or 表示转折,意为“否则”。
e.g. If you get up early, you’ll catch the school bus.
= Get up early, and you’ll catch the school bus.
= Get up early, or you won’t catch the school bus.
早点起床,你就会赶上校车。
借助 without 或 with 来转换条件状语从句。
e.g. If there is no sunshine, plants will die.
=Plants will die without sunshine.
如果没有阳光,植物将会死亡。
If you help me, I’ll get better grades.
=With your help, I’ll get better grades.
如果你帮助我,我将取得更好的成绩。
