1. 慰问信的基本结构
慰问信是指当同学、亲友考试失利、生病、受伤或遇到火灾、水灾、被盗等不幸事件时，向对方表示慰问的信件。慰问信要写得真诚并注意措辞；要围绕一个中心，安慰对方并令其得到鼓舞。内容通常包括：开篇表明写信目的，即向对方的不幸表示同情；正文安慰和鼓励对方并提供必要帮助；结尾再次表示同情并献上祝福。
2. 常用表达
开头语：
(1)I was so sorry/shocked to learn of the news that…
我很抱歉/震惊地得知……
(2)I'm sorry to hear that you didn't perform well in…and that you are feeling discouraged.
我很遗憾听到你在……中表现欠佳而心情沮丧。
(3)I'm writing to express my deepest sympathy for you.
我写信是为了向你表达我最深切的同情。
正文：
(1)As the proverb goes, “Failure is the mother of success.”

(2)If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to let me know.
