Post-reading
The story The Ant and the Grasshopper tells us one important thing: We need to plan for the future early and work hard when we have the chance. Don’t just enjoy easy
times right now and be lazy—if
you do that, you’ll get into
trouble later.
Post-reading
Learn to use our time well.
For example, finish our
homework first before
watching short videos.
Don’t wait until the
night before a test to study like
crazy. Instead, learn a little
each day, just like the ant.

Role play
We need students:
Student 1: Act as the ant.
Student 2: Act as the grasshopper.
Student 3: Act as the voice-over.
1.What is the moral (寓意) of this story?
Post reading
Further thinking
We should work hard and plan for the future.
If we are lazy and only care about having fun today, we will suffer tomorrow.
Do you agree with it?
Yes, I strongly agree with it. I think it's a very important lesson for everyone. For example, as students, if we don't study regularly (like the Ant), we will feel stressed and fail our exams (like the Grasshopper in winter). Planning and hard work bring security and peace of mind.

2.Are you more like the Ant or the Grasshopper in your daily life? Give an example.
I am more like the Ant.
For example, when the teacher assigns a big project that is due in one month, I don't wait until the last week. I will make a plan and finish a small part every few days. This way, I never feel too stressed, and my work is always good quality, just like the Ant who felt happy seeing her full kitchen.
I am a bit of both, but I'm trying to be more like the Ant.
Sometimes I'm like the Grasshopper. For example, I love playing video games, and I often tell myself "the exam is still far away," so I delay studying. But when the exam is close, I feel very regretful and stressed, just like the Grasshopper in winter. Now, I'm learning to finish my homework first before playing, which is the Ant's way.

And then the cold winter came. __________________________

And then the cold winter came. The grasshopper sat outside the ant's house, looking sad. The ant felt a bit sorry for him. She opened the door and said, "Come in, but help with housework in exchange for food and warmth." The grasshopper was thankful and started to work. He learned to work hard. In spring, he left, found his own field, and worked hard there.
What if the ant helped the grasshopper?
