2.Lazy people get nothing when hard times come.
3.Take care of yourself—don’t wait for others to help you.
Use time wisely and plan for yourself !
Homework

Extended:
What will happen next? Write a new ending.
Choose-to-do选做
Retell the story and read more Aesop’s Fables .
Must-do必做
The ant is hard-working and wise. She can plan for the future early, doesn’t like to enjoy easy life right now, and keeps working .
Grasshopper is lazy and not wise enough. He only enjoys the present, never thinks about future problems, and doesn’t know how to plan for itself or take responsibility(责任).
未雨绸缪
得过且过
Post-reading
What will happen next? Write a new ending.
And then the cold winter came. The grasshopper sat
outside the ant's house, looking sad. The ant felt a bit
sorry for him. She opened the door and said,“Come in, but help with housework in exchange for food and warmth.”He learned to work hard. In spring, he left, found his own field, and worked hard there. He smiled:“hard work always pays off.”
A happy ending
Post-reading
What will happen next? Write a new ending.
And the cold winter came. The grasshopper sat outside the ant's house, looking sad. His legs shook from the cold, and he knocked at the door softly. “Ant, please give me some food—I’m so hungry!” he begged.
The ant thought of what he did all summer. “I told you to get ready,” she said. “I can’t share my food—I need it for myself.” She closed the door gently.
The grasshopper sat there, tears turning to ice on his cheeks. The wind blew harder, and he felt weaker. By next morning, snow covered him. He never saw spring come— because he chose to be lazy instead of planning ahead.
A sad ending
Post-reading
What will happen next? Write a new ending.
And the cold winter came. The grasshopper sat outside the ant's house, looking sad. His legs shook with cold, and he knocked softly. “Ant, I know I was lazy. Can I trade something for food ” he said, holding a small violin.
The ant opened the door. “I don’t need music, but… you can play for the little ants. They miss fun in winter.” The grasshopper played happily—his music made the house warm.
Every day, he played, and the ant gave him food. By spring, he’d learned to work too. Now, he both works and plays—no more hungry winters, and the ant’s home has music too!
A creative ending
Post-reading
The story The Ant and the Grasshopper tells us one important thing: We need to plan for the future early and work hard when we have the chance. Don’t just enjoy easy
times right now and be lazy—if
you do that, you’ll get into
trouble later.
Post-reading
Learn to use our time well.
For example, finish our
homework first before
watching short videos.
Don’t wait until the
night before a test to study like
crazy. Instead, learn a little
each day, just like the ant.
