Noah Aldrich和爸爸妈妈住在美国爱达荷州的博伊西市,
在2岁时,当听说妈妈要再给他生个弟弟,他开心得要命。
等啊等啊,弟弟终于出生了,
他小小的,脸蛋肉乎乎,好可爱。。。。
Noah和Lucas成为了最好的朋友,不想和他分开。
美国8岁男童带脑瘫弟弟参加铁人三项
但在Lucas三个月左右,
大人们渐渐觉得Lucas有点古怪。。。。
他哭得太勤了,没有什么原因就哭,一哭就哭好几个小时,好像不会累一样。
大人们劝妈妈Aldrich把孩子带到医院检查检查。
妈妈本来觉得,小婴儿哭哭很正常,
完全就是。。。。光滑的。。。。
没有了应有的大脑褶皱,患者的脑部无法正常发育,最后只能发展到3-5个月大的程度。
大部分平脑症的患者无法活过2年,
据医生们说,Lucas的状况要好一些,不过。。。‘无法活到他10岁的生日’。
但在医院检测了Lucas的大脑后,医生告诉他们一个晴天霹雳的消息:
Lucas患有平脑症,这辈子都无法说话、行动、自己吃饭。。。只能待在轮椅里。
大部分普通人的脑子,
都是有褶皱的,这些褶皱扩大人的脑容量,让人能够思考、感知。
但是平脑症患者的脑子,长这样。。。。
虽然Noah还小,
但他也隐隐约约明白了背后的意义,
虽然年纪渐渐长大,
他越发珍惜两人在一起的时光。
Noah喜欢和Lucas玩玩具,
主要是Noah拿着玩具,展示给Lucas看,发出‘呜呜’的玩具声效。
对Lucas来说,哥哥简直是个神奇的超人,总是能变出好玩的玩意儿。
看着哥哥时,眼神都是亮闪闪的。。。。
Noah还经常把弟弟的小车装饰一番,带着他去街上散步,
让他看看外面的世界。。。。
‘他们两人是最好的朋友,不能分开。’爸爸妈妈都说。
但,Noah仍然没有忘记医生当初说的话。。。
‘无法活到他10岁的生日’。。。
当Lucas越来越大时,Noah开始变得紧张、担心。
在2014年初,8岁的Noah做了一个决定:
他要尽可能多地和弟弟在一起活动,
比如,和弟弟一起参加铁人三项!
这对8岁小男孩来说,其实难度挺大的,
更何况,Noah决定带着Lucas一起参加。
Lucas怎么参加呢?
很简单,直接。。。。把弟弟放到游泳圈里,自己拖着他游;
自己的自行车拉着弟弟的轮椅骑;
自己推着弟弟跑。。。。
是的,当别的选手都轻装上阵时,
Noah决定多带一个人外加一辆轮椅的重量。
这听上去有点不可思议,但Noah坚信自己能做到。
他想让弟弟和自己一起感受运动的乐趣,和自己一起享受比赛,最重要的是,和自己在一起,共同完成一件事。。。
为这场比赛,Noah训练了3个月,
每天推着弟弟的小车在外面奔跑。。。
当天气温37度,Lucas体重50磅(22.7公斤),加上轮椅是40磅(约18公斤),这对8岁的Noah来说,很吃力。。。
但最吃力的,还是跑步。
之前已经消耗了大量的体力,
还要推着90磅重的弟弟和车跑1600米,每一步都很艰难。。。
但Noah还是坚持跑到终点,最后来了一个冲刺。
‘干得好!’周围的人们冲他欢呼。
Noah拥抱着弟弟,
所有亲友跑过来亲吻着两个男孩。。。
这是两兄弟美好的经历。。。
