Last weekend, our class attended a voluntary activity in a community senior center nearby.
Some of us entertained the elderly by singing Nanyin and doing magic tricks. Others chatted with them. They were overjoyed for our coming and the senior center was full of laughter. Besides, we also taught them how to use smartphones in everyday life, such as showing the health QR code, calling a taxi and making an appointment with the doctor. They were impressed by the convenience technology brings.
The activity is so meaningful that we all feel rewarded and determined to visit them regularly.

Getting to Know the Plants Around Us
Last weekend, we participated in an activity themed “Getting to Know the Plants Around Us" organized by the students' union.
Equipped with basic skills of scientifically observing and grouping/categorizing plants, we took a guided tour in the City Botanic Garden. There, not only did we try to identify and record different kinds of plant species, but we also had a deeper understanding of the roles plants play in making our world more habitable. The tour ended with an informative lecture by a scholar in botany.
The experience was really eye-opening,exposing us to a colorful plant world and stimulating our love for nature.

Dear Peter,
I’m writing to share with you The School Reading Day taking place in our school last week.
During the event, we were first presented with varieties of literary classics and then given the freedom to select one based on interest. Following that, we had lively discussions in the groups where we shared our interpretations about the text. The highlight of our reading journey was a book report session, which offered an opportunity for each group to share our unique perspectives on the chosen classic.
We benefited a lot from this event. Not only did it broaden our horizons, but it developed our minds. Hopefully, I can have the chance to participate in such activities again.
