I’m writing to tell you something about Mid-Autumn Day. It is a traditional Chinese festival, which falls on the 15th of the 8th month of our Chinese lunar calendar. People will join together to celebrate this festival. It means reunion.
On last Mid-Autumn Day, I went to the market with my mother to buy some vegetables, fruits, mooncakes and meat in the daytime. When we came back home, I helped my mother prepare supper. In the evening my family members and relatives had a big dinner together. We talked and drank wine with each other. After dinner, we enjoyed the moon and ate mooncakes. The moon was very big and round. I spent a very happy day.

On last Lantern Festival, I went to the lantern fair with my family. I also enjoyed the wonderful dragon and lion dances there. After that, we went back home and ate “yuanxiao”, a sweet dumplings specially for this festival. I spent a very pleasant and relaxing day.

I’m glad to tell you something about Spring Festival. As you know, the Spring Festival is the most important festival in China, just like Christmas in the west. It falls on the first day of the lunar year.
Before the festival, people are busy cleaning and decorating their houses to welcome the new year. On New Year’s Eve, people usually get together to have a big meal and watch the annual Spring Festival Gala onTV. During the festival, people go from house to house to pay a New Year visit to their relatives and friends, from whom Children and teenagers can get lucky money in red envolopes. This is exactly why I like the Spring Festival very much.
