What an unforgettable experience I had! From the experience, I learned that Harbin’s beauty can bring people at home and abroad together. I really hope I can go back again.
Last winter vacation, my family took a train to Harbin for a holiday. We stayed in a warm hotel near the frozen Songhua River. I live in a southern city, so everything here was so different! For example, outside our hotel, there was a huge ice square with shining lights.
On the first day, in the evening, I went to the ice square to explore. There, I was surprised to see colorful ice works of art. They looked like giant castles and animals! I ran back to tell my parents what I saw. My mom smiled and said,
“These ice works are made by artists around the world. They want people to enjoy Harbin’s winter magic!”

I went to Xi’an on vacation with my family. When I got there, it was sunny and hot. I was so excited because it was the first time for me to see one of the oldest cities in China.
We drove to the Terracotta Army first. I learned something important about Chinese culture and history. The next day, we decided to climb Hua Mountains and we walked up to the top. Everything was small from above. We were so excited to dance and took photos. After walking for four hours, I was tired and hungry. Then, we tried something special in Xi’an. Mutton and bread tasted delicious. Before leaving, I bought something special for my grandparents and friends.
No one felt bored. It was a wonderful trip. I am so proud of our country. I decide to study hard and learn more about Chinese history.
