第五讲 续写语言提升
由读后续写评分原则可知,读后续写作文对词汇应用的丰富性、准确性都做出了明确的要求。文中除了要准确使用词汇外,也要注意所用词汇的丰富性:减少基础词汇(如笼统词、低年级常用词等)的使用,培养使用复杂词汇(如具体词、派生词、短语等)的习惯,从而使文章内容更加生动、丰富,提升文章档次。
第一节 词汇升级
常用词汇升级方法如下:
基础用法 高级用法
低年级学习的词语 高年级学习的词语
笼统的词语(如walk) 具体的词语(如tiptoe,wander等)
单词(如visit) 短语(如pay a visit to)
单词原形(如happy) 单词的派生词(如happily, happiness等)
就读后续写来说,最主要的升级方法是笼统词变具体词和单词变短语。
类型1 笼统词变具体词
笼统词指一些描述范围较大、指向信息不明确的词语,而具体词往往是这类词语的具体描述。笼统词变具体词可以使叙述的内容更加准确,行文更加生动。
As soon as the puppy heard his footsteps, it ran towards him.
一听到他的脚步声,波比就朝他跑了过来。
如果将句中的 ran 改为 darted(飞奔,像飞镖一样射出去),可以更准确地表现出小狗激动的情绪,使读者产生更直接的观感,这是笼统词变具体词的一大好处。但是在使用的时候也需要注意用词是否符合语境,如上句中,若将 run改为 sprint(冲刺),则无法展现小狗对主人的友好,不符合句子的语境。
按照词性进行划分,常用的笼统词变具体词示例如下:

类型2 单词变短语
用意思相同或相近的短语替换单词,可以达到优化表达的效果。较为常见的是将动词替换成动词短语,也有一些将副词替换成副词短语、介词替换成介词短语的情况,将形容词替换成“of+名词”的情况也比较常见,例如:valuable→of great value。现将一些高频的单词替换成短语的情况归纳如下:

第二节 句式升级
要提高读后续写的语言表达能力,我们除了掌握读后续写常用的一些词语外,在平时的学习中还要注意积累一些常用句式,并背诵、默写、仿写,最后做到运用自如。
提分句式1 无灵主语句,写情更细腻
在英美人的思维中,往往更注意客观事物和现象对人的作用和影响,反映在语言表达上就是经常用无生命名词作主语。无灵主语句的使用可以有效地提升作文的档次。
句型公式1:A wave of/A sense of...+情感名词+有灵动词+sb.

句型公式2:身体部位的名词/“音、容、笑”的名词+有灵动词(短语)
face, eye, heart, hand, finger, laughter, smile, tears, voice, disappointment flashed/passed over掠过 brightened/lighted up照亮 welled up 涌出 spread across 浮现 clouded over 显得阴沉 (恐惧、愤怒、忧愁) +sb./sb.'s face, eye, heart等
普通: She felt very delighted when I gave her the present.
升级: Her face brightened when I gave her the present.
我给她礼物时,她的脸上焕发出了光彩。
句型公式3:情感名词+有灵动词+sb.(使某人不能做某事)
(1)情感名词+deprived/robbed sb. of sth.(使某人丧失……的能力)
普通:I was too astonished to speak anything.
升级:Astonishment deprived me of my power of speech.
惊讶使我说不出话来。
(2)情感名词+ prevented sb. from doing sth.(使某人无法做某事)
普通:He was too afraid to move.
升级:A strong wave of fear prevented him from moving.
强烈的恐惧感使他无法动弹。
(3) words等名词+ failed sb.(某人无法做某事)
普通:I was speechless when I tried to express my heartfelt thanks.
升级:Words failed me when I tried to express my heartfelt gratitude.
当我试图表达我衷心的感谢时,我说不出话来。

提分句式2 形容词(短语)作状语,描写更生动
句型公式:①形容词(短语),主+谓……
②主+谓………,形容词(短语)
形容词(短语)作状语可位于句首、句末或句中。其主要功能是表达人物做某个动作的原因、结果或者伴随状态,可以增强感染力,使描述更生动形象。

我害怕听到另一个名字,我低下头想了想。

提分句式3 非谓语动词作状语,表达更简洁
非谓语动词doing, having done和done作状语时,主要表示原因、结果或伴随情况。doing/having done形式所表达的动作与主语之间构成主动关系,done则与主语构成被动关系。用非谓语动词把同时发生或先后发生的两个动作连接起来,这样句子就不会显得单调,每个动作也能更紧密地衔接在一起。
句型公式1:主语+did sth., doing...或者
Doing...,主语+did sth.
分析:两个动作同时发生,而且主语都一样,就可以用分词作状语,doing表示主动。

句型公式 2:主语+ did sth., done...或者Done...,主语+did sth.
分析:done与逻辑主语是被动关系。

我对他的话感到了一种强烈的兴奋和自豪,但我只是目瞪口呆地站在那里。

句型公式3:Having done sth., sb. did sth.
分析:如果想强调同一个主语一个动作做完之后又做了另一个动作,就可以把先发生的用 having done的形式来表示。
Having walked for quite a long time, she found herself lost.
=After she walked for quite a long time, she found herself lost.
走了很长时间后,她发现自己迷路了。

Ⅱ.用非谓语动词作状语完成/翻译下列句子

提分句式4 独立主格与with复合结构,句式更灵活
非谓语动词作状语时,其逻辑主语须与主句主语保持一致。若不一致,非谓语动词形式须另带主语,从而构成复合结构的形式作状语,这种结构称为独立主格结构。独立主格结构,一般用逗号与主句分开,其作用相当于一个状语从句或并列句,常用来表示时间、原因、条件或伴随情况等。独立主格经常可以和with复合结构互换。
句型公式:①独立主格结构:名词/代词+非谓语动词(-ing形式、-ed 形式或不定式)、形容词、副词或介词短语。
②with复合结构: with+名词/代词+非谓语动词(-ing形式、-ed 形式或不定式)、形容词、副词或介词短语。
(2023·新高考Ⅰ卷)As I entered, he looked up from his desk,(with) a warm smile spreading across his face.
我进去的时候,他从桌子上抬起头来,脸上露出了温暖的微笑。

提分句式5 运用虚拟语气,文采更出众
虚拟语气是通过语法手段来表达出对别人的尊敬或尽量使自己的语气委婉、客气的效果。虚拟语气的形式多种多样,在写作中,虚拟语气能够表达其他任何语气所无法取代的丰富的感彩。
我们使用虚拟语气时,多数情况是因为表达者的语用目的,而不是简单表达一个相反的事实。说话者一般都是借助这个“虚拟情况”委婉表达一个言外之意,达到一个特定的交流目的,在很大程度上避免出现尴尬处境。例如:
If I had enough money, I would help you.
如果我有足够的钱,我就会帮助你。
分析:这句话的真正含义是I will not help you,通过使用if条件句,help的行为便成了一种假设的虚拟行为。听话者从该条件可以自己推断出这样的结论:我可能不帮你。
一、虚拟语气的常用句式
句型公式1:“If sb. had done..., sb. would have done”或者“Had sb. done..., sb. would have done”如果某人过去……,某人就……
(2023·新高考Ⅰ卷)If I hadn't attended the contest, I wouldn't have won the gold medal!
=Had I not attended the contest,I wouldn't have won the gold medal!
如果我没有参加比赛,我就不会获得金牌!
句型公式2:“Without/But for..., sb. would have done”要不是……
分析:该句式相当于 If there had not been..., sb. would have done 或者 Had there not been..., sb. would have done

句型公式5:sb.+谓语, wishing that sb. had (not) done sth.
I was rooted on the ground due to being frightened, wishing that I had refused my mother's advice yesterday.
我由于恐惧而站在地上,真希望我昨天拒绝了妈妈的建议。
句型公式6:“sb.+谓语, as if sb. had done”表达形象生动
The glasses dropped into the river, as if the water had swallowed them.
眼镜掉到河里,好像被水吞没了。
二、虚拟语气表达不同情绪
1.后悔、遗憾、悔恨
If I had taken his advice,I wouldn't have been trapped in the awful situation now!
如果我采纳了他的建议,我现在就不会被困在这个可怕的境地了!
2.生气、愤怒
“If you had been more patient, the situation would not have been so terrible.”I couldn't contain my anger and shouted at him.

3.感激
But for/Without his help, I wouldn't have got out of trouble.I owed all my luck to him.

提分句式6 运用倒装句,句子更亮眼
倒装句的使用丰富了语言表达,让句式更加多样。因此,写作中适当用一些倒装句式会使文章的表达更生动、有力、让阅卷老师眼前一亮。
部分倒装1: So+adj./adv.+be动词/助动词+主语...that... 如此……以至于……
During the exam, so nervous was I that my mind went blank.
考试中我如此紧张以至于大脑一片空白。

考生要学会分解动作,形成一个细化的动作链,比如浙江高考读后续写中 Mac遇到狼上车的动作,不是简单的get in the car就可以解决的,过于笼统的描述使描写空洞乏味,学生要善于捕捉这个关键的慢镜头,并将Mac的动作按照时间轴分解为jump off the bicycle—dash into the back seat of the car—slam the door—lean against the seat, breathless 等动作链来描写,通过动作链可形成动作面,使情景具有画面感,那么如何设计动作链和动作面呢?
一、分解动作,形成动作链
句型公式1:主语+动作A,动作B and 动作C
该句式中连词 and连接三个或三个以上的动作,构成动作链,动词的时态是一致的。
①I approached Dad, proudly took out of my own money and handed it to him.
我走近爸爸,骄傲地拿出我自己的钱递给他。
②Her pulses beat fast, and the blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body.

不用抽象或虚化的动词描述,而是使用含义比较精确的描写。试比较下面两句:

类型一:缓慢移动

高效技法3 形象化:添加修饰成分,做到描写生动
除了精准选用表示动作的词语,还要给动词加上适当的修饰成分,使动作更加形象生动。适当的修饰语能细致地表达出动作的时间、幅度、速度、力度等,使人物形象更具活力,能更好地表现人物的鲜明个性与思想境界。动作描写中最常见的修饰成分就是状语,如副词、介词短语等。其次是定语,如形容词等。
在体现动作的迅速和短暂时,我们可以添加以下修饰语: immediately, without delay, witout hesitation等。
比如下面两个句子:
①The wolf also noticed them and turned its head back, shouting at Paul and Becky.
狼也注意到他们,回头朝保罗和贝基喊叫。
②At the same time, the wolf also noticed them and fiercely turned its head back, shouting loudly at Paul and Becky.
与此同时,狼也注意到了他们,恶狠狠地转过头,对保罗和贝基大声喊叫。
分析:第二句中加上 at the same time(与此同时), fiercely(激烈地), loudly(大声地),就把这两个人遇到狼的危险情况生动地表达出来了。
