1.spend的用法：
花费时间或金钱，过去式：spent
①spend + 时间 / 金钱 + on sth.（在某物 / 某事上花费时间 / 金钱）
She spends two hours on her homework every evening.
她每天晚上花两小时做作业
My father spent 50 yuan on this book.我爸爸花 50 元买了这本书。
②spend + 时间 / 金钱 + (in) doing sth.（花费时间 / 金钱做某事）
He spends half an hour (in) reading English every morning.
他每天早上花半小时读英语
③spend + 时间 + with sb.（和某人共度时光）
I like to spend weekends with my family.我喜欢和家人一起过周末
辨析：spend，take，pay，cost 作“花费”意思的用法区别：
动词 主语 宾语 固定搭配 例句
spend 人 时间 / 金钱 spend + 时 / 钱 + on sth. / (in) doing sth. She spends 1 hour on English every day.
take it（形式主语） 时间 It takes sb. + 时间 + to do sth. It takes me 20 minutes to get to school.
cost 物 金钱 sth. costs sb. + 金钱 This pen costs me 15 yuan.
pay 人 金钱 pay + 金钱 + for sth. He paid 300 yuan for the jacket.

1.go + 动词ing形式的组成的短语，含义：去做....，类似短语：
go hiking 去徒步旅行 go skiing 去滑雪 go ice skating 去溜冰

2. expect的用法
动词，过去式：expected
①expect + 名词 / 代词（期待某人 / 某物）
She expects a call from her friend.（她期待朋友的电话。）
②expect to do sth.（期待做某事）
We expect to go to the park this weekend.（我们期待这个周末去公园。）
③expect sb. to do sth.（期望某人做某事）
My parents expect me to study hard.（我的父母期望我努力学习。）
④expect + 宾语从句（预料 / 认为某事会发生）
She expects it will rain tomorrow.（她预料明天会下雨。）
3. give up的用法 ：放弃；戒除
①give up （放弃某物 / 某事）
Don’t give up your dream easily（不要轻易放弃你的梦想）
接 “代词”（it/them）作宾语时，代词必须放在 give 和 up 之间（give it up，不能说 give up it）
②give up doing sth.（放弃做某事）
My sister gave up eating snacks to keep fit.（我姐姐为了保持健康，戒掉了吃零食）
3. used to的用法：
过去常常做某事（现在已经不做了），后加动词原形
She used to live in a small village.（她过去住在一个小村庄里。→ 现在不住了）
They used to walk to school.（他们过去常常步行上学。→ 现在不步行了）
结构区分 含义 例句（初一适配）
used to do sth. 过去常常做某事（现在不做） He used to play football.
（他过去常踢足球。）
be used to doing sth. 习惯于做某事 He is used to playing football.
（他习惯踢足球。）
4. scared的用法 形容词 形容词，害怕的，恐惧的，对...感到恐慌的
①be scared of sth/doing sth 害怕....，害怕做....
They are scared of snakes.（他们害怕蛇。）
She is scared of going out alone. 她害怕独自外出。
②be scared to do sth 害怕做...
She is scared to speak in class.（她害怕在课堂上发言。）
③ be scared that +句子 害怕..., 担心...
He is scared that he will be late for school.（他害怕上学迟到。）
4.encourage 的用法 作动词，鼓励 过去式：encouraged
①encourage sb. to do sth.（鼓励某人做某事）
Our teacher always encourages us to ask questions bravely in class.（我们老师总是鼓励我们在课堂上勇敢提问。）
②encourage doing sth.（鼓励做某事）
The government encourages planting trees to improve air quality.（政府鼓励植树造林以改善空气质量。）
③encourage sb. in sth.（在某方面鼓励 / 支持某人）
Her father encouraged her in her love for painting.（她爸爸支持她对绘画的热爱。）
