They are adjectives.
1. We use adjectives to describe people or things.
2. We can put adjectives ________ (before/after) nouns. We can also use them ________ (before/after) the verb to be (e.g. am, is, are).
Winter is cold in my city. I always wear a warm coat and a long scarf. It is fun to play in the snow!
It’s sunny today. I’m hot and thirsty. It is nice to eat ice cream on a hot day.

有些形容词由名词加–y 演变而来。如：
