现在进行时可以用来表述现在正在发生的事情或行为,如①。现在进行时还可以用来表示为将来安排好的活动或事件②、③。
V-ing变化规则
work - working buy - buying
① 一般情况下,动词后直接加-ing
take - taking have - having
② 以“不发音的e”结尾的动词,去掉e,加-ing
stop - stopping prefer - preferring
④ 以“辅音字母 + 元音字母 + 辅音字母”的重读闭音节
结尾的动词,如果末尾只有一个辅音字母,双写辅
音字母,然后加-ing
tie - tying die - dying
③ 以“-ie”结尾的单词,把ie变成y,再加-ing
一般过去时
① Well, I visited the Giant's Causeway two years ago.
哦,两年前我游览了巨人之路。
② I was very thin in my childhood.
我小时候非常瘦。
③ I got up very early when I was a college student.
我上大学时起得很早。
一般过去时可以用来表述过去某个时间发生的事情或行为,如①。一般过去时还可以用来描述事物过去的状态或过去经常发生的事情,如②、③。

动词过去式的变化规则:
1. 一般在动词末尾加-ed, 如: pull-pulled, cook-cooked
2. 结尾是e加d, 如: taste-tasted
3. 以“辅音字母+y”结尾的, 变y为i, 再加-ed, 如: study-studied
4. 末尾只有一个元音字母和一个辅音字母的重读闭音节, 应
双写末尾的辅音字母, 再加-ed, 如: stop-stopped

can 和could可以用来谈论主语所具备的能力,意为“能,会”,如①。can, could还可表示请求“许可;允许”或提出自己的请求,如②③。can, could还可以用于提出建议,如④。
④ We could have a picnic in the park this weekend.
我们这周末可以去公园野餐。

否定回答:Sorry, you can't. / I'm afraid you can't. /
Sorry, I can't. / I'm afraid I can't. /...
