There is going to be a workshop on IT products at the meeting room

John is a salesman for a car company. His boss sent him an email and asked him to prepare a presentation for an important conference a month ago. John didn’t take it seriously, because he thought he had plenty of time to finish the task. He went on a holiday even though there were only two weeks left. He still played computer games one week before the deadline. As time flied, he found it was impossible to finish the task in one day. His boss must be very angry with him.

05 Around the World
When travelling, you might experience different “local” times. This can affect almost everything: catching trains and buses, getting meals, making appointments etc. Knowing a little about the local culture could avoid a lot of problems. Remember that it is important to do as the locals do.
If you go to a restaurant in Spain at 7 pm, that’s bad news. The staff usually eat at that time. Try going after 9 pm, as the Spanish do. While in Switzerland, the earlier the better, say, 6 pm; after 10 pm, a tourist hoping for a hot meal might just go hungry.
However, in some countries, hours and minutes hardly seem to matter. In Mexico, guests invited to a 6 pm social dinner think nothing of showing up two or three hours late. In fact, it might be wise to arrive at least an hour late for dinner in Mexico to avoid embarrassing (使尴尬) an unprepared host or hostess.
