课程标准
普通高中英语课程标准(2017年版2020年修订)中提到,高中英语教学应有机融入坚持和发展中国特色社会主义、培育和践行社会主义核心价值观的基本内容和要求,继承和弘扬中华优秀传统文化、革命文化,发展社会主义先进文化,加强法治意识、国家安全、民族团结、生态文明和海洋权益等方面的教育,发展学生健康的审美情趣和良好的鉴赏能力,加深对祖国文化的理解,增强爱国情怀,坚定文化自信;应关注学生个性化、多样化的学习和发展需求,促进人才培养模式的转变,着力发展学生的核心素养,使学生具有理想信念和社会责任感,具有科学文化素养和终身学习能力,具有自主发展能力和沟通合作能力。 在核心素养层面,课程标准要求英语课程的设计和开展应该围绕培养学生的语言能力、文化意识、思维品质和学习能力,并符合高中学生的心理特征、认知水平、学习特点,为学生升学、就业和终身学习构筑发展平台。 此外,英语学习活动关要求学生在主题意义引领下,通过学习理解、应用实践、迁移创新等一系列体现综合性、关联性和实践性等特点的英语学习活动,使学生基于已有知识,依托不同类型的语篇,在解决问题的过程中,运用学习策略,学习语言知识,发展语言技能,理解文化内涵,提升思维品质和价值判断。
学情分析
高一学生处于青年期初级阶段,其心理发展状态具有明显的过渡性和独特性。这一阶段的学生学习目的性强,思维的独立性和自觉性比较高,自身思维意识逐渐发展,因此教师在课堂上应该注重学生学习主动性的发挥以及尊重学生的个性思维。 本班学生英语基础相较而言比较好,已经通过前期的词汇学习掌握了本单元的陌生词汇,因此于他们而言,阅读文章并理解文章大意不存在较大问题。但是在读后活动环节,学生由于词汇量的不足以及口语表达方面存在一定困难,因此无法将自己的想法完美地展示出来。 本节课重点在于通过学习文章内容以及完成一系列教学活动,培养学生的文化自信以及民族自豪感,从而激励他们从小事做起,规范自己的书写。为了突出课程重点,教师在进行教学设计时弱化了对文本的处理,仅仅通过略读、寻读等环节引导学生掌握课文的基本内容。将重点放在了读后活动上。在小组讨论环节学生热衷于与同伴交换自己的观点,这种基于信息差的思想碰撞能够培养学生的探究学习能力以及合作学习能力。在制作书法作品的环节,学生将会对此表现出较强的兴趣,并在自己动手操作的过程中真切感受到汉字书写的魅力,能够极强地唤起学生的自豪感。 此外,本节课以周杰伦的音乐作为导入,能够拉近与学生的距离,吸引学生的参与兴趣。
教学目标
核心素养 Linguistic Ability(语言能力): Students are expected to understand the development of the Chinese writing system and its importance to China. (中国书写体系的发展史以及重要性) Learning Ability(学习能力): Students are supposed to grasp some reading strategies and improve the abilities of self-learning(自主学习), inquiry learning(探究学习), and cooperative learning(合作学习). Cultural Awareness(文化意识): Students should raise cultural confidence(文化自信)and a sense of identity and pride in our national culture(本民族文化的认同感和自豪感). Thinking Quality(思维品质): Make sure that students can express the meaning of Chinese characters in their own words and experience the charm of Chinese character writing through practice. (汉字魅力)
目标达成 Linguistic Ability(语言能力): Students will master the basic content of the text through skimming and scanning, and work in groups to gain a primary understanding of the development and importance of the Chinese writing system. Learning Ability(学习能力): Students are asked to communicate, interact and collaborate in groups to complete teaching and learning tasks, which can enhance their ability abilities of self-learning, inquiry learning, and cooperative learning. Cultural Awareness(文化意识): Students will gain cultural confidence by discussing the reasons for the increasing popularity of Chinese characters and Chinese culture and by feeling the attractions of Chinese culture and the strength of China's comprehensive national power. Students will be able to experience the charm of Chinese character writing in the process of writing personally. Thinking Quality(思维品质): Students can experience the charm of writing Chinese characters by creating their own calligraphy works.
重点、难点
重点 Let students have a general command of the text by using proper reading strategies and know about the Chinese writing system.
难点 Encourage students to analyze the reasons why the Chinese writing system, Chinese characters, and Chinese culture are becoming increasingly popular with foreigners and to promote cultural confidence. Students are asked to choose a Chinese character and analyze its meaning, then experience the charm of Chinese character writing by creating a calligraphy artwork.

新课导入 Play the songs prepared in advance, and have the students sing along and think about the lyrics. Enjoy the music, observe the lyrics, and try to find out what is relevant to the lesson and think about how the different written forms are expressed in English. The teacher chose several songs by Jay Chou as an introduction. After listening to the songs, students need to find out what is related to the topic of the lesson from the lyrics and express it in English with the teacher's guidance. This can attract students' interest in class participation, stimulate the class atmosphere and introduce the topic naturally.(以周杰伦的歌曲作为导入能够吸引学生的课堂参与兴趣,调动课堂氛围并自然地引入主题)
教学目标展示 Present a slide to show the learning objectives of the lesson and explain the key points to the class to ensure that students understand the objectives of the lesson. Watch the slides carefully, and listen carefully to the teacher's explanation to clarify the classroom tasks. Students will be able to identify what they will learn and what skills they will improve through this lesson. And to understand what classroom activities they will be involved in to ensure that the objectives are met.
新课讲授(高质量问题) Ask two questions and have students quickly skim the article to find the answers to both questions. Present the students' tasks on a slide, and divide the class into six groups and give each group the corresponding task cards, then ask the students to find the key information in the text and present the task cards in the correct order. Q1:What about the development of the Chinese writing system Guide students to read the last two paragraphs carefully, and present them with the first importance of the Chinese writing system as a template, and then ask them to summarize the other importance based on this template. Select two key expressions from these two paragraphs and share them with students to set the stage for the rest of the discussion. Ask questions based on the last two paragraphs of the text, asking students to think about the reasons why Chinese culture and Chinese characters are becoming more and more popular among foreigners. (Q2)And then reflect on what actions they, as Chinese high school students, should take to deal with this problem.(Q3) Show students the two Chinese characters the teacher will give to students and their meanings, and encourage them to be brave, determined, and honest in their future lives. Understand the two questions and skim through the article quickly with the questions in mind to find the prehend the task and find the relevant information in the article after getting the task cards, and work in groups to sort the task cards and present the reading results to the class. Q1:What about the development of the Chinese writing system Read the last two paragraphs carefully to discuss and summarize the importance of the Chinese writing system with peers based on the examples given by the teacher. Understand carefully the connotations of the two important expressions. Understand the questions asked by the teacher, discuss with peers, and carefully analyze the reasons for the increasing popularity of Chinese culture based on what they have learned earlier.(Q2) And then reflect on what they should do in their future lives.(Q3) Appreciate the Chinese characters given to them by the teacher and understand their meanings. By skimming the article quickly with questions, students can clarify the topic and the order of writing, and have a clear understanding of the main content of the article.(通过带着问题快速浏览文章,学生能够明确文章的题材以及写作顺序,而且对文章的主要内容有清晰的了解) Students are divided into different groups, and each group has different reading tasks. 课堂小结 This lesson is introduced by music, which introduces the topic of the lesson: the Chinese writing system. Students mastered the development and importance of the Chinese writing system through independent study and group work using skimming and searching reading skills. Finally, through a discussion and a creative activity, students are able to visually experience the charm of Chinese writing and culture, thus increasing cultural confidence and national pride.
