Unit 3.Same or Different
形容词和副词的比较级
含义：大多数形容词和副词有三个等级：原级，即原形；比较级, 表示“较……”或“更……一些”；最高级, 表示“最……”。其中，比较级用于两者(人或事物)之间的比较，说明“前者比后者更 (不)……”。

以字母e结尾的词，在词尾加--r large larger
重读闭音节词词尾只有一个辅音字母时先双写该辅音字母，再加-er big thin bigger thinner
以“辅音字母+y结尾”的双音节词先把y改i, 再加-er easy early easier earlier
多音节词和部分双音节词 在词前加 more beautiful interesting more beautiful more interesting

常见的修饰比较级的词或短语：
比较级前面可以用much,/a lot（…得多）, far（远远地），even（甚至）, a bit/a little（一点儿）等修饰语用以加强语气或表示程度。
Eg:I am much taller than you. 我比你高很多。
用法；
在“比较级 +than”的句型中，当 than 前后所使用的动词相同时，通常用助动词代替后面的动词，该动词或助动词可以省略。
Eg:You know more about yourself than I (do). 你比我更了解你自己。
句型：
①A+ be+ 形容词比较级+ than+B./A+实义动词+副词比较级+ than+B. 表示“A 比 B……”
Eg:I'm more outgoing than my sister./ Tom runs faster than Jerry.
②A+ be+ the+形容词比较级+ of the two……… 表示“A是两者中较……的”
Eg:Tom is the taller of the two brothers.
③比较级+ and+ 比较级 / more and more+原级 表示“越来越……”
Eg:The day is getting hotter and hotter./The city is becoming more and more beautiful.
④the+比较级, the+比较级 表示“越……,越……”
Eg:The harder you study, the better grades you will get.
⑤表示两者在某一方面相同时，用“as+形容词/副词原级 +as”的句型。表示“像……一样……”。
Eg:I think science is as important as maths.
Tom runs as fast as Jack.
表示一方在某一方面不如另一方时，用“not as/so+形容词/副词原级 +as”的句型.表示“不如……那样……”。
Eg:It is not as/so warm today as yesterday.
He did not come as/so early as Wang Lin.
⑥Who/ Which+动词+比较级, A or B A 和B 哪个更…… (人用 who, 物用 which)
Eg:Who is taller, Mary or Lucy
Which is more beautiful, my picture or his picture
注意:同类事物才能进行比较。
常见错误: Her hair is longer than me. (不是头发和人比)
正确写法: Her hair is longer than mine. (或 my hair) (是头发和头发比)

pleasure n.乐事；愉快；荣幸→ pleasant adj.宜人的；友好的
appear v.出现；看来好像→ appearance n.外表；露面

similar adj.类似的；相像的 → similarity n.相似之处
