We don’t have to have the same hobbies to be friends. 成为朋友不一定要有相同的爱好。

主谓一致：be动词过去式（was/were） - He was sad because he argued with his friend.（他因为和朋友吵架而难过。）- They were happy to help Liu Ping.（他们很高兴能帮助刘平。）
