(n.) 末尾；尽头；结束 eg . At the end of the road, there is a park
固定搭配：
end up doing sth. 最终做某事
Eg. He ended up working as a teacher.
in the end最后；终于（= finally）
Eg. In the end, we won the game.
at the end of... 在…… 的末尾 / 尽头（后接时间或地点）
Eg. At the end of this month, we will have an exam.
②on time 准时 in time 及时
③pick up 1.捡起；拾起 eg. He picked up a book from the floor.
2.（开车）接某人 eg .My father will pick me up at the school gate.
四．If you come to my city, I'll show you around. If I go there, I'Il try all the delicious local food.（p72）
考点：①show sb. around =take sb. around领某人参观
②try all the delicious local food尝尝所有当地美味的食物
local (adj.)本地的 n.本地人
③if 引导的条件状语从句
表示 “如果…… 就……”，if 后面的句子是条件，另一个句子是满足条件后的结果。
从句位置：可在主句前（加逗号），也可在主句后（不加逗号）。
例：If you are tired, you can rest.（从句在前）You can rest if you are tired.（从句在后）
1. 主将从现（表将来可能的情况）
规则：从句用一般现在时（表将来），主句用一般将来时
例句① If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, we will have a picnic.
② She is going to buy a new bike if she saves enough money.
2. 主祈从现（主句是祈使句）
规则：从句用一般现在时（表将来），主句用祈使句（动词原形开头）。
例句① If you see him, tell him to call me back.
② Don’t forget your umbrella if it rains this afternoon.
3. 主情从现（主句含情态动词）
规则：从句用一般现在时（表将来），主句用情态动词 + 动词原形（常见情态动词：can, may, must, should, could 等）。
例句① If you get up early, you can catch the first bus.
② You may eat the cake if you finish your dinner.

Professor, thanks for the helpful speech on communication. I have a question. Sometimes my friends and I argue but don't know how to make up. What's the best way to communicate in this situation （p73）

prefer to do A rather than do B “宁愿做 A 而不愿做 B”
Eg. I prefer to walk to school rather than take the bus. （我宁愿步行上学，也不愿坐公交车。）
be careful with... “小心对待……；注意……
②argure more over the phone 在电话里争吵得更厉害
③what if“要是……会怎么样？”（用于询问假设情况的后果）
例：What if it rains tomorrow Will we still go camping 要是明天下雨怎么办？我们还去露营吗？
If you stay calm and say sorry, it will help. If it is still hard to talk, take a break. Meet when you're both ready.（p73）

2. The boy can’t reach the book on the shelf.
3. I can’t reach him on the phone now.
④by phone通过电话on the phone在接电话；在电话里
⑤try texting试试发短信
text sb. = send a text message to sb.（给某人发短信）

感叹句：
How + 形容词 / 副词 + 主 + 谓
eg.How great the reunion will be!
What + (a/an) + 形容词 + 名词 + 主 + 谓
eg.What a great reunion it will be!
固定短语
drop sb. a line 给某人写短信 / 发消息（口语化表达）= send sb. a message/note
give sb. details about sth.给某人提供某事的细节
detail（n.）细节→ detailed（adj.）详细的
Eg.She gave me detailed information about the trip.
think about sth. seriously 认真考虑某事
promise + that 宾语从句 承诺……（从句用陈述语序）
十二． Hey, it's me. I wanted to talk to you about the training plan for our team.The new season is coming, so it's time to make a plan for our training. ①perform（v.）：表现；表演 → performance（n）：表现；演出
eg：His performance in the match was great.
②祈使句 + and + 陈述句：表顺承关系，用于提出请求
eg：Study hard, and you will get good grades.
③give sb. a call 给某人打电话=call sb.
④think of想到；想出=come up with
⑤a good time for everyone to meet 供大家碰面的好时机（不定式作后置定语） -
