Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for your question. As people often say, any exercise is better than none, but running has a lot of advantages.
It is a great sport for beginners — you do not need a gym membership or any special equipment(设备). Just a pair of good running shoes will do. The most important thing is to keep it up.
You are also somebody who worries about getting sick. Running will help you, get fit and prevent diseases. Like any exercise, running can make your heart stronger and allows more blood to flow around your body. It also strengthens your immune system(免疫系统) and reduces the risk of serious health problems, as well as more common illnesses like colds. Besides, anybody who is feeling down can go for a run to cheer themselves up and feel relaxed.
If you are new to running, here is some advice for you — it is important to warm up and cool down properly before and after running, so you do not hurt yourself. A warm-up gets your blood flowing and prepares your body before you exercise. After a long run, you should jog slowly for ten minutes, and then walk for five minutes. Such kind of warm-down relaxes your body after exercise.
For more guidelines on running, click here. I hope this will help!
Best Regards,
Dr. Martin

Most of us don't have to worry about our next meal because there's plenty of food for us. But many people around the world aren't so lucky. They live in hunger every day.
According to a recent UN report, about 113 million people around the world suffered from acute hunger(急性饥饿) last year.
Acute hunger is the most serious—it means that a person will die soon if he or she doesn't have food. Nearly two-thirds of people facing acute hunger come from just eight coun-tries, including Ethiopia, Syria and Yemen.
One reason for this is war. 74 million people, or over half of the number of people facing acute hunger, are living in war-torn(经受战争的) countries.
Also, climate(气候) change and natural disasters(灾害) pushed another 29 million people into acute hunger in 2018, according to the report. This number includes people in southern Africa who faced droughts(旱灾) last year.
A UN official David Beasley called for the world to solve the problems. China has worked hard to solve its own hunger problem. The country has helped 80 million people out of hunger in the past few years.

Reading is so much fun! You can also learn more from the texts and about the texts. One way you can do this with story books, passages, or poems is to explore their themes.
A theme is a central idea of the text, connecting the characters(人物) and events. The writer may express his or her thoughts through a theme. Themes can be ideas like the friendship, bravery, love or family. Make sure you know what the writer is saying.
Sometimes, it is hard to find out themes. First, the theme may not be able to be included in just one word. There may also be more than one theme in the text. What's more, some themes are not presented in the text directly. You have to use clues(线索) in the texts to find them.
To explore the theme, the most important thing is to make sure you've read the whole text. Since themes develop over time, you can't fully understand the themes until the end of the text. Then, ask yourself to sum up(概括) the text and try to work out a "big idea". For example, did many characters solve problems with their families If there was only one small problem with a character's family, then "family" might not be the theme of the text. Finally, after finding out a "big idea", go through the text to find examples that support this idea. You needn't repeat every detail of the story—a few key examples will be fine.
Now you are ready to explore the theme of a text!
66.What is a theme
A. The writer's words in the text.
B. A central idea of the text.
C. Reader's own opinions about a book.
D. A story book, a passage, or a poem.
67.Why is it difficult to find the theme according to Paragraph 3
A. Because there are no clues in the text.
B. Because every text has lots of themes in it.
C. Because we can use one word as the theme.
D. Because the themes may not be found directly.
68.How can you explore the theme
A. Read the whole text. B. Count the examples.
C. Repeat every detail. D. Find one small problem.
69.What is the best title(标题) of the passage
A. Reading stories B. Solving Problems
C. Exploring Themes D. Writing Books

Helping Others Makes Me Grow as a Person
Being helpful is a traditional virtue. Our life is always full of ups and downs. ①When we are in trouble, we do hope others can help us out. So when we have the ability to help others, we should try our best to be helpful.
I still remember I helped one of my classmates with her maths when we were in the first term of Junior Eight. Li Na, one of my classmates, was not good at maths while I did well. At that time, she was too shy to talk to anyone in class. ②One day, I noticed that she had difficulty in doing her maths homework. I went over to her to offer my help. She thanked me many times. From then on, whenever she had problems, she would ask me, and I was patient to explain them to her. Slowly, her maths improved a lot with my help and I found my maths improved too.
③The roses in her hand, the flavor in mine. ④If everyone can do something good to others, our world will be a better place.
