The story took place in the south-east coast of Asia on December 26th, 2004. We follow our main character Lucas and his family as they spend their vacation on the coast. As Lucas is playing happily with his brothers and his father, a terrible tsunami hit the coast and they were all washed away by the waves. Unwilling to abandon his life and his family members, Lucas kept swimming and searching for his mother. He finally made it to safety with his mom by the help of the trees and floating things. In the end, he found his brothers and father too.
I think the story is touching because the boy is brave and persistent, he tried hard and never gave up.
