Last Saturday, I went to the school playground to watch the final of the 4×100-metre relay at our annual sports tournament. It was an extraordinary experience and something I will never forget.

Before the race, everyone was quiet and still. I had never imagined that the atmosphere at a sports event could be so intense. When the runners set off, everyone went wild! We all stood up and started cheering and shouting. It was like being hit by a huge wave of excitement. I could see the runners straining to run as fast as they could, while trying not to drop their batons at the change. The race was all over in just one minute. It was Li Chong, the fastest student in our school, who first crossed the finish line. Everyone was on their feet, cheering. I was also caught up in the excitement and cheered so hard that I thought my lungs would burst!

The School Basketball Competition
To promote our friendship, release our pressure and cultivate teamwork spirit, a thrilling basketball competition was held last week.
During the competition, classes were assigned to different groups to compete against each other. What impressed me most was the final. Both well-prepared, the competitors were ambitious and seemed like aggressive lions. The audience cheered up with every shot. Soon it came to the match point, and everyone held their breath. Beyond our expectations, the ball flew across the court, falling through the basket steadily. It was not until the referee blew the whistle to end the game that we realized what had happened. Endless cheers burst out and everyone was clapping hands.
In my opinion, the competition was such a breath-taking one that we were all absorbed in it. Not only did we gain laughter and joy, but also we had a better understanding of teamwork spirit. It was so wonderful to be engaged in this sporting moment.
