Possessive nouns
定义:表示所有关系，意为“……的”。
1. 在名词后面加’s 所有格表示有生命的名词的所有关系。
2. 如果是无生命的名词，多采用 “of + 名词” 的结构表达。

名词所有格的结构
1.-’s所有格
(1)有生命的单数可数名词所有格一般直接在词尾加-’s, 但以s结尾的复数可数名词只需加-’,不以s或es结尾的复数可数名词所有格加-’s
[例]my brother’s book

men’s room
(2)表示共同所有的名词所有格，只需在最后一个单词后加-’s;表示各自所有的名词所有格，则需在每个名词后加-’s
[例]Amy and Lisa’s room,
John’s and Eric’s bikes
(3)表示时间、距离、价格、世界、国家等的名词所有格用-’s或者-s’
[例]today’s newspaper
(4)表示商铺、某人的家、诊所或餐馆等的名词所有格，其后名词常省略
[例]at Green’s (home)
2.of 所有格
一般用于表示无生命名词的所有关系
[例]the top of the hill
3.双重所有格
(1)of+-’s所有格
[例]a photo of Mary’s
(2)of+名词性物主代词
[例]a friend of mine
4.个别用to表示所有格
[例]the key to the door
名词所有格的结构
a friend of my father’s 与 my father’s friend 的含义不同，前者含有 “我父亲有不止一个朋友” 的意思，而后者没有这一含义。
