What do you know about New Year's resolutions or decisions Why should we make a decision How do we make every decision
New Year's resolutions are personal promises to improve oneself at the new year’s start, often about health, learning, or habits, with roots tracing back to ancient Babylon. Many fail due to overambition; success lies in small, specific goals and tracking progress.

What do you know about New Year's resolutions or decisions Why should we make a decision How do we make every decision
We make decisions to take control of our lives and move toward clear goals.Without decisions, we might drift aimlessly—missing chances to grow, solve problems, or make choices that fit our needs. For example:-①A student decides to study daily to get better grades.②We decide on New Year’s resolutions to build good habits.Decisions also help us prioritize what matters most, avoid regrets, and turn ideas into actions.

Discuss the questions.
It depends on the plans. I stuck to my reading plan because I chose interesting storybooks and read a few pages every night before bed—it was easy and fun. But I failed to keep my exercise plan. The main reason was that I had too much homework most nights, and I was too tired to go out and exercise after finishing it.

My New Year Resolutions
As the new year begins, I’ve listed small things to improve and made simple resolutions. These plans aren’t hard to follow, and I hope they can make my daily life more organized and meaningful.
First, I want to be more focused in class. Sometimes I get distracted during lessons, so my resolution is to take notes carefully every time. Writing down key points will keep my mind on the teacher’s words, and I’ll also have clear materials to review later.
Next, I’ll cut down mobile game time and practice oral English. I’ll limit phone use to 30 minutes a day to save time for useful things. For English, I’ll speak for 15 minutes daily—maybe describe my breakfast or chat with a friend in simple English.
Lastly, I’ll stop putting off homework. I usually leave it until night, which makes me rush. From now on, I’ll start homework right after school. This way, I can finish it calmly and have free time to relax in the evening.
Use the notes above to write three paragraphs. In each paragraph, write what you are going to improve and how.

Because he thought the winter was so far away and the preparing work was boring. Grasshopper preferred singing and dancing.

And then the cold winter came. The ant sat by her warm fire, biting into a crisp piece of corn, when a faint knock pulled her from her meal. She opened the door to find the grasshopper—his wings tattered, legs shaking, voice thin with cold: “Please… I have no food, no shelter…”
The ant’s heart softened. She stepped aside to let him in, wrapping a cloth around his shoulders and handing him a bowl of hot corn soup. “You can stay,” she said, “but every morning, you’ll help me check the food stores and mend the grain sacks.”
The grasshopper agreed. Though he’d never worked before, he fumbled through the tasks—slow at first, but steady. By the time snow melted, he’d learned to value preparation. When spring arrived, he joined the ant in the field: he collected seeds while humming tunes, and in the evenings, played the violin to lighten their work.
That year, the farm’s fields held both full grain piles and cheerful songs—proof that even late lessons could turn carelessness into joy, and loneliness into friendship.
