Saying goodbye to

Passive in the simple present and the simple future

is / am / are done一般现在时的被动语态
语态用来表示主语和谓语之间的关系。
英语中有两种语态,一种是主动语态,表示主语是动作的执行者;另一种是被动语态,表示主语是动作的承受者。
被动语态的基本结构:be + 及物动词的过去分词 (be + done)
助动词be根据不同时态有不同的变化形式。
被动语态的构成
一般现在/将来时的被动语态
1. 不知道或没有必要指出动作的执行者
被动语态的用法
e.g. Many trees will be planted next year.
2. 强调或突出动作的承受者
e.g. Chinese is spoken by more and more people in the world.
3. 动作的执行者是物。
e.g. Many houses are washed away in the flood every year.
在被动句中,为了强调动作的执行者或者由于结构上的需要,需使用by短语。
e.g. I’m moved by his words.
当不需要指出动作的执行者时,by短语可省略。e.g. The flowers are watered every morning.
一般现在时的被动语态:am/is/are + 及物动词的过去分词
e.g. The class meeting is held every Thursday.

一般将来时的被动语态:will be + 及物动词的过去分词
e.g. We will be invited to the concert by him next spring.

① 把主动句中的宾语成分变为被动句的主语成分,若宾语是人称代词,应把宾格变为主格。
② 把主动句中的谓语动词变为“be + 动词的过去分词”, 但时态不能改变。
主动语态变被动语态
Tom holds the class meeting. (主动语态)
The class meeting is held by Tom. (被动语态)






③ 把主动句的主语变为被动句中介词by的宾语(有时可省略),若主语是人称代词,应把主格变为宾格。
动词短语是一个不可分割的整体,在变为被动语态时,不可丢掉构成动词短语的介词或副词。
e.g. We will take good care of the children.
→ The children will be taken good care of by us. (of不可省略)
