The Lantern Festival
The Lantern Festival comes on the 15th day of the first lunar(农历的) month (usually in February). On this night, families go out to see colorful lanterns in parks or streets. Children love guessing lantern riddles(谜语)—fun questions written on lanterns. People also eat yuanxiao, sweet rice balls with fillings like red bean or peanut. It’s a time to celebrate the end of the Spring Festival and wish for happiness.
The Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month (usually in June). It honors Qu Yuan, a great ancient poet. People have special traditions: racing dragon boats and eating zongzi. Dragon boats are long and decorated with dragon heads; teams row together to the sound of drums. Zongzi is glutinous(粘的) rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, often with meat or dates inside. People also hang mugwort(艾草) on the door to reminds people to stay healthy in summer.
The Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (usually in September or October). It’s a festival for family reunion. On this night, the moon is round and bright. Families gather to eat mooncakes—round pastries with fillings(馅) like lotus seed paste(莲蓉) or egg yolk(咸蛋黄). They sit together, enjoy the moon, and share stories. Mooncakes symbolize(象征) family unity, just like the round moon.
The Qixi Festival
Qixi Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It is on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month every year.
It is a romantic(浪漫的) festival in China. Girls usually pray for good skills and happy love. Couples often go out for dates, give small gifts to each other and enjoy the beautiful night. Qixi Festival is full of warm wishes for love.

Q1: When is Halloween celebrated, and what do children do during trick-or-treating
Q2: What is the main meaning of Halloween now, and how does it make people feel
Halloween, a lively(热闹的) Western festival, falls on October 31st every year. It is at the end of autumn, bringing a night full of joy and excitement for both kids and adults.
The most beloved activity is trick-or-treating. Children dress up in colorful costumes(服装)—like witches, superheroes or ghosts—and visit houses in their neighborhood(社区). They knock on doors, shout “Trick or treat!” and get candies in return.
Families also carve pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, putting candles inside to make them glow warmly, which adds a magical(神奇的) touch to the streets. Many people hold parties too, where they play games, dance in costumes and share laughs with friends.
Beyond the fun, Halloween has deep meaning. Long ago, it was a time to honor ancestors(祖先), but now it’s mainly about friendship and togetherness(团聚). It encourages people to be creative(有创造力的)—whether making costumes or carving pumpkins—and helps them connect with others.
Halloween feels amazing! The air is filled with laughter(笑声) and surprise. Dressing up makes people feel brave or playful(有趣的), and sharing candies and games brings pure happiness. It’s a night when everyone can relax and enjoy simple pleasures with loved ones.
