same和different均为形容词。他们的含义和用法如下：
same意为“相同的”，在same 前常用the，后面跟名词或名词短语，强调事物的相似度极高，几乎无差别如：
Jenny and Sam have lived in the same neighbourhood for ten years.
different意为“不同的；有差异的”，强调事物之间有差异、不一样，与 the same正相反如：
They are twins, but they look different.

注意：
与大多数形容词不同的是，different可以用any，no，(a) little，not much等来修饰。如：
The young man looks a little/no different after so many years.

We use like to say things are similar in one or more ways.
We use the same as to say things are exactly like one another.
We use different from to say things are not similar or not the same as one another.
The atmosphere is like the glass of a greenhouse.
Without the atmosphere, the Earth would be the same as the Moon — cold and lifeless.
We should be different from many consumers and become “green consumers”.

like 可作介词，意为“像”，用于名词或代词之前，强调事物在某些方面具有相似性，但并不一样。如：
The girl looks like her mother.
the same as 和……一样，强调一者与另一者一样，as后接比较对象。如：
This book is the same as that one.
different from，与……不同，from后接比较对象，与短语the same as相对。如：
My bike is different from yours.
注意：
由于like是介词，the same as 和different from 是形容词短语，这些表达方式通常跟在系动词 (如be, look, seem, smell, sound, taste等) 后面。

有时在the same后放一个名词或短语，用来表达双方在某一方面是一样的。

the same … as 结构可与as … as结构互换。如：
Simon is the same height as Jason.
= Simon is as tall as Jason.
