(1)if不能引导表语从句、同位语从句和介词后面的宾语从句,也不能与or not直接连用,whether则可以。if引导主语从句时不能位于句首,只能用于it作形式主语的句型之中。
(2)reason作主句的主语时,后面的表语从句只能用that引导,而不能用because。
