  There are many types of tombs in Egypt.However,throughout Egypt’s past,the tombs of kings and high officials,upper class artists and craftsmen,and poor people were very different.For poor people,the types of tombs they used stayed about the same,but the tombs of kings and high officials changed a lot over time.
At first,the kings of Egypt were buried in what are known as mastabas in southern Egypt,mainly at a place called Abydos.They had a pit (坑)where the dead were buried in the ground covered by stones above around.Later mastabas sometimes had many rooms below and above ground to store the items that the dead person wished to take with him or her into the afterlife.
Later,during a period known as the Old Kingdom,the kings decided to be buried in a more northern location around the capital of Egypt.It was a city called the White Walls,but the Greeks called it Memphis.There were several cemeteries(墓地) around Memphis.The first was a place called Saqqara,where the earliest pyramids were located.These were not true pyramids,as they had stepped sides rather than being smooth.
Later kings experimented with true pyramids at a place called Dashure,where they finally built the first true pyramid tomb.However,the largest and grandest pyramids were later built at a place called the Giza Plateau,which is now just outside of the modern city of Cairo,Egypt.However,there were a number of other locations where the kings of Egypt built pyramids,but almost all of them were built near Memphis in the north or only as far south as a place called the Fayoum.

Ⅰ.限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句的区别
1.限制性定语从句
它是先行词在意义上不可缺少的定语,如果去掉,主句的意思就不完整或失去意义。这种从句与主句的关系十分密切,书写时不可用逗号分开。
※ This is the best novel that I have ever read.
这是我曾经看过的最好的小说。(限制性定语从句,先行词是novel)
2.非限制性定语从句
它只是对先行词作附加补充说明,如果去掉,主句的意思仍然清楚完整。这种从句与主句的关系不是很密切,书写时往往用逗号分开。非限制性定语从句一般不用that引导。

我昨天晚上看过那部小说了,它非常有意思。(非限制性定语从句,先行词为novel)
Ⅱ.定语从句中关系副词与“介词+关系代词”的转换
※I still remember the day when(=on which) I first came to Beijing.

※This is the house where(=in which) Lu Xun once lived.这是鲁迅曾住过的房子。
※The reason why(=for which) he failed in the exam was that he didn’t study hard.

(1)关系副词when,where引导的定语从句可以转换为“介词+which”引导的定语从句;而why引导的定语从句可以转换为“for which”引导的定语从句。
(2)在使用“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句时,介词的选择要考虑以下三个方面:
①介词和定语从句中先行词的习惯搭配;
②介词与定语从句中的谓语动词的习惯搭配;
③介词与定语从句中的谓语动词和先行词同时搭配并能符合句意逻辑。

(1)定语从句的先行词在定语从句中作宾语时,关系词通常省略。
(2)先行词是way,reason,time,place等且它们在定语从句中分别作方式、原因、时间和地点状语时,其后定语从句的相应关系词that/in which,why/for which,when,where等可以省略。
(3)由and,but,or 等并列连词连接两个或两个以上的定语从句修饰同一个先行词时, 第一个关系词可以省略,但第二、三个一般不可以省略。
(4)关系代词前有介词时,该关系代词不能省略。
(5)非限制性定语从句中,无论关系词作何成分,都不能省略。

限制性定语从句与非限制性定语从句的区别
  1.作用不同:
限制性定语从句在意义上与先行词关系密切,是不可缺少的定语,去掉之后句子意思不完整或失去意义。
非限制性定语从句和主句的关系并不十分密切,只是对先行词作附加的说明,去掉之后意思仍然清楚。

7.as 和which的选择(非限制性定语从句中):
相同:都可以指代整个句子的内容,非限制性定语从句位于句末且as 或which作主语、宾语或表语时,常可互换。

(1)如非限制性定语从句位于主句之前,只能用as。

  1.作用不同:
限制性定语从句在意义上与先行词关系密切,是不可缺少的定语,去掉之后句子意思不完整或失去意义。
非限制性定语从句和主句的关系并不十分密切,只是对先行词作附加的说明,去掉之后意思仍然清楚。
His brother who lives in London will go to America next week.
(他住在伦敦的哥哥,可能还有别的哥哥)
His brother,who lives in London,will go to America next week.
(只有一个哥哥)
2.形式不同:限制性定语从句中主句与从句间无逗号,非限制性定语从句中主句与从句用逗号隔开。
3.先行词:限制性定语从句的先行词只能是名词或代词,而非限制性定语从句的先行词可以是名词或代词,也可以是短语或句子。
4.关系词不同:that,why不能引导非限制性定语从句。

What achievements has UNESCO accomplished
UNESCO’s challenges have changed over the years.Among its major achievements was the organization’s work against racism,which concluded in 1978 with the Declaration on Race and Racial Prejudice—this document essentially states that all human beings,no matter where they are from,are equal.
So powerful was UNESCO’s challenge to systemic racism globally that South Africa withdrew from UNESCO because of “conflicting interests”—it rejoined in 1994 after Nelson Mandela was elected president and segregation was truly over.
In 1960, UNESCO launched an event called the Nubia Campaign in Egypt to move the great Temple of Abu Simbel to keep it from being swamped by the Nile Delta.Over a period of 20 years,22 monuments and architectural complexes were moved.
Since then,many campaigns have echoed these achievements including those in Kathmandu,Nepal and the Acropolis in Greece.

What is UNESCO
UNESCO,or the United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization,is a special agency within the UN (United Nations).
After the UN was founded in 1945,Ministers of Education from China,the UK,the US and the USSR came together to agree that the world needed to establish an educational and cultural organization.
UNESCO was created in 1945 with the firm belief that,forged by two world wars in less than a generation,political and economic alliances were not enough to build world peace.
In this sense,peace must be established on the basis of humanity and our moral and intellectual solidarity to one another.

What achievements has UNESCO accomplished
UNESCO’s challenges have changed over the years.Among its major achievements was the organization’s work against racism,which concluded in 1978 with the Declaration on Race and Racial Prejudice—this document essentially states that all human beings,no matter where they are from,are equal.
So powerful was UNESCO’s challenge to systemic racism globally that South Africa withdrew from UNESCO because of “conflicting interests”—it rejoined in 1994 after Nelson Mandela was elected president and segregation was truly over.
In 1960, UNESCO launched an event called the Nubia Campaign in Egypt to move the great Temple of Abu Simbel to keep it from being swamped by the Nile Delta.Over a period of 20 years,22 monuments and architectural complexes were moved.
Since then,many campaigns have echoed these achievements including those in Kathmandu,Nepal and the Acropolis in Greece.

The China Society for Human Rights Studies on Wednesday held a side-event on the theme of“Chinese-style Modernization and Human Rights” during the 45th session of the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review of the UN Human Rights Council.
Suolang Zhuoma, an assistant researcher at the China Tibetology Research Center, said that Xizang boasts many historic sites, such as Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple.The Chinese government has listed them as key national cultural relics and invested substantial funds in their protection.
Through relentless restoration efforts, these precious ancient buildings can maintain their historical style, serving as both symbols and witnesses to Xizang’s rich cultural traditions, she said.
