rich 作形容词,意为“丰富多彩的;富有的”,常用搭配:be rich in... 大量含有……。

拓展提升:rich 的反义词为poor,意为“贫穷的”。

【辨析】speak, say, tell与talk
speak (1)+语言 (2)+to/with+sb.
say +说话内容
tell (1) tell sb. (not) to do sth. 意为“告诉某人(不要)做某事”。
(2) tell a story/lie 意为“讲故事/说谎”。
talk (1) talk about 意为“谈论”。
(2) talk to/with sb. 意为“和某人谈话”。

4. Russia goes across Europe and Asia. 俄罗斯横跨欧洲和亚洲。
across 作介词,意为“横过;遍及”,常与 go, run, walk 等动词搭配,着重指从一边到另一边,指从表面通过;作副词,意为“横过”,常用搭配:across from 在……对面。
e.g. I walk across the playground. 我步行穿过操场。
It’s too wide. We can’t swim across. 这太宽了。 我们游不过去。
易混辨析
across, cross 与 crossing
(1)across 作介词和副词,意为“横过;遍及”。
(2)cross 作动词,意为“穿过”,指从平面穿过。
e.g. cross the street=go across the street 意为“穿过马路”。
(3)crossing 作名词,意为“十字路口”。
5. It is the largest country in area. 它是面积最大的国家。
此处 largest 为形容词 large 的最高级形式。 当三者或三者以上的人或事物进行比较时用最高级。 形容词变为最高级时一般在词尾加-est。 常用结构:“主语+be 动词+the+形容词最高级+名词+比较范围”,表示“……(在某方面)是最……的……”。
e.g. The Yangtze River is the longest river in China. 长江是中国最长的河流。
易错提示
形容词最高级前面若有物主代词、指示代词或名词所有格等修饰时,不用定冠词 the。 如:
Tom is Mr Smith’s youngest son. 汤姆是史密斯先生最小的儿子。
