Once upon a time, there was a poor little girl with lots of matches to sell in the cold winter streets. With no shoes and thin clothes on, she shivered with cold. With each match sold, she earned a penny, but it was not enough to buy food or shelter. With tears in her eyes, she lit a match to warm herself, and in the flame, she saw a beautiful vision of a warm stove. With hope in her heart, she lit another match, and this time she saw a table full of delicious food. With each match burning, she saw a new vision, but with the match gone, she was left alone in the cold. With a smile on her face, she closed her eyes and fell asleep, dreaming of a better life.
