Learning Objectives

Characteristics
调查报告类书面表达是针对某一现象、事件或问题而进行的深入细致的调查后写的文章。调查报告多以“文字+表格/柱状图/饼状图/曲线图”的形式出现，主题多为兴趣爱好、家庭消费、就业方向等。

Writing skills
一：遵循三段式
第一段提出问题，结合题干紧扣主题说明调查的背景；
第二段分析问题，写出调查的内容；
第三段解决问题，陈述看法或作出结论或提出建议。
二：审题三要素
时态：客观描述调查内容，多用一般现在时；
人称：多以第三人称描述主题信息；发表看法可以用第一人称；
体裁：调查报告
三：数字多样化
调查报告往往涉及到很多数据，尤其是百分比，可以采用以下几种方式：25%; twenty-five percent; one fourth, a quarter of等。
四：层次要分明
报告调查的结果要重点突出，先从百分比最高说起，依次降低；必要时可以合并项目，甚至详略兼顾。

Learning Traditional Chinese Culture
With the rapid growth of Chinese economy in the world, many foreign teenagers are keen on learning traditional Chinese culture. Aimed at knowing how they learn it, a survey was launched last week. The results are as follows.
About 45%, prefer to visit ancient Chinese buildings, such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and old temples. 25% of the teenagers choose to appreciate the Chinese drama, among which Peking Opera is the most popular. 20% of them are learning Chinese Kongfu. In comparison, reading the Classics is the least popular way, accounting for only 15%.
Overall, there is no doubt that the traditional Chinese culture is extensive and profound, we need to keep exploring it.

为了解学生们课外英语学习活动现状，我校于上周对学生进行了一次调查。结果如下。

Aimed at knowing the current situation of students’ English learning activities beyond the classroom, a survey was launched by our school last week. The results are as follows.
65% students prefer to appreciate English songs. 50% of them like watching English movies. Meanwhile, 18% students choose to read English books . In comparison, visiting English learning websites is the least popular way, accounting for only 12%. Obviously, students show great interest in English activities beyond the classroom.
Overall, there is no doubt that enjoying English songs and watching English movies make us pleasant, but we should pay equal attention to reading English books and browsing English websites.

There are many ways we can do to learn English well beyond the classroom. As is shown in the chart , we clearly learn that the students listening to English songs and watching English movies make up 65% and 50% respectively, while a few students choose to read English books and browse the English learning websites .
Obviously, it is not surprising that the majority of students prefer to listen to songs and watch movies rather than read English books and browse English learning websites. This is because songs and movies can not only improve their English ability, but also relieve their stress.
From my point of view, when listening to songs and watching movies, we are supposed to make full use of learning resources on the Internet and read more English books.
