Senior Obligatory Book1
Opening
In the reading process, I will focus on students’ long-term development and enable them to use proper reading skills and strategies. In other words, students are guided to read efficiently and independently. My teaching plan will include 6 sections.
General Introduction
Section 1 Analysis of the teaching material
Section 2 Analysis of the students
Section 3 Identifying teaching aims
Section 4 Identifying teaching methods
Section 5 Teaching procedures
Section 6 Blackboard design
Status and content:
The reading is the centre of this unit, in which we will learn some expressions, reading skills and the uses of attributive clause.
Teaching keys:
1. Improve the students’ reading skills.
2. Enable the students to learn about the natural disasters.
Teaching difficulty:
The process of finding the main idea of each paragraph.
Section 1 Analysis of the teaching material
Section 2 Analysis of the students
1. The students are Senior one, so the task I set shouldn’t be too difficult.
2. The students have previewed the reading part before the lesson and learned new words, so during teaching, we have no new words.
Section3 Identifying teaching aims
Knowledge aim: Students are familiar with various expressions and have a good command of the natural disasters.
Ability aim: Students can figure out the implied meaning while reading and listening.
Emotion aim: Students realize the importance of surviving the earthquakes and loving our earth and life.
Thinking quality aim: Inspire the students’ spirit of protecting the environment.
Section 4 Identifying teaching methods
Guided reading —— cooperative learning —— task-based method. With the teaching methods, I can guide the students to use effective reading strategies to comprehend the text, solve problems and complete different tasks.
Section 5 Teaching procedures
The teaching procedures include seven parts. They’re lead-in, pre-reading, while-reading, post-reading, role-play, discussion and homework.
