Some words for natural disasters go together with certain verbs. Use these collocations to make sentences.

“ take place ”意为“发生”,多指按计划、安排发生的事件,不能用于被动语态。
一般现在时:表示经常性、习惯性的发生/举行。
例:The Spring Festival takes place in January or February every year.
一般过去时:描述过去发生的具体事件。
例:An important meeting took place in our school last week.
现在完成时:强调从过去到现在发生的变化或经历。
例:Many great changes have taken place in my hometown since 2000.
