“ look forward to ” 是固定动词短语，意为“期待；盼望”
1. 接名词/代词：I look forward to your reply.（我期待你的回复）。
2. 接动名词：He looks forward to meeting his old friend.（他期待见
到老朋友）。
由于“to”是介词，当后面跟动词时，必须使用动名词形式（-ing），不能使用动词原形。
拓展：常用搭配 look forward to doing sth. with sb. 意为“期待和某人
做某事”；
可用于现在时（如：I look forward to...）或将来时（如：I will
look forward to...）。
