2. Group discussion: Why do accidents happen
How can we avoid accidents in our daily lives
Adverbial of cause
Group sharing
We think the accident happened because Nancy rode her bike at night without a light, and it was foggy. Also, she turned into a dark side road. To avoid accidents, we should make sure our vehicles have proper lights, avoid riding in dark and foggy conditions, and be cautious when changing roads.
We agree. Also, she might not have been careful enough when slowing down. So, in life, we should always be aware of our surroundings, especially in poor visibility, and take necessary precautions like wearing reflective clothing at night.
Part III : Topics Reflection
Choose one of these topics or any topic you are interested in, discuss it in a group, and share it with the class.
The quality of emergency responders;
Innovative methods of campus first aid education;
Insights from unit learning on “caring for others”
How about ways to warn people of various dangers and prepare them for different emergencies
what do you think we should be like if we want to work as a first-aid doctor or volunteer
I learned that even small accidents can have serious consequences, so knowing first aid can help in emergencies. Also, the importance of staying calm and taking quick action.
What did you learn about first aid that you didn’t know before
We need professional skills, like knowing how to perform CPR. Also, we should be calm, empathetic, and have a sense of responsibility. The Red Cross volunteers need to care about people’s welfare.
Now, let’s do the unit evaluation. Please tick the box that best describes your feeling about this unit: interesting, useful, so-so, or difficult.
