v-ing作宾语可分为介词宾语和动词宾语两种
1.常见的有介词to 的短语:
be used to 习惯于
get down to 开始做;
lead /contribute to 导致;
devote oneself to 致力于…… ;
look forward to 期待;stick to 坚持;
pay attention to 注意;object to 反对;
作介词的宾语
2.在以下结构中,v-ing形式作介词的宾语,介词常省略。
spend …(in) doing 花费(时间或金钱)做某事
be busy (in)+ doing sth. 忙于做某事
waste time (in)+ doing sth. 浪费时间做某事
prevent/stop …(from) doing 阻止…做某事
have some difficulty/trouble (in) doing 做某事有困难
have a good/hard time (in) doing sth. 高兴做某事/做某事很艰难
There is no point/sense (in) + doing 做某事是没有意义的
有些动词后只能跟动词-ing形式作宾语,而不能跟动词不定式作宾语。有此用法的动词有:
allow, advise, admit, appreciate, avoid, bear, consider, delay, deny, enjoy, escape, finish, forbid, imagine, keep, mind, permit, practice, quit, risk, suggest等。
动词-ing形式作宾语
①Would you mind opening the window 你介意打开窗户吗?
②I suggest going swimming now. 我建议现在就去游泳。
常跟v-ing作宾语的动词(短语) --记忆口诀
避免 错过 少延期 avoid、miss、postpone
建议 完成 多练习 suggest、finish、practice
喜欢 想象 禁不住 enjoy、imagine、can't help
承认 否定 与嫉妒 admit、deny、envy
逃避 冒险 莫原谅 escape、risk、excuse
忍受 保持 不介意 stand、keep、mind
2. 有些动词短语常跟动词-ing形式作宾语,如:
give up, put off, get down to, object to, feel like, look forward to, devote oneself to, can’t help, stick to, pay attention to ,insist on等。
动词-ing形式作宾语
①He insisted on doing it in his own way.
他坚持要按照自己的方法做。
②I really object to being charged for parking.
我非常反对收停车费。
3. 有些动词既可以跟v-ing,又可以跟不定式作宾语,意义基本相同
She began feeling / to feel a sense of panic.
她开始有一种恐慌感。
She continued working / to work after she had her baby.
她有了小孩之后继续工作。
如:begin, start, continue
4.有些动词和动词短语后跟动词不定式和动名词作宾语皆可,但含义不同。

remember to do 记着要去做……
doing 记得做过……
regret to do 遗憾/抱歉要做……
doing 后悔做了……
try to do 尽力做……

动词 宾语的形式 意义
go on to do 接着做(另外一件事)

stop to do (作目的状语) 停下来去做某事
doing 停止做某事
mean to do 打算做……
doing 意味着做某事
在like, love, hate, prefer等动词之后,
动词-ing形式:经常性的情况;
不定式:具体的一次性动作。
①He likes swimming.
②He doesn’t like to swim this afternoon.
他喜欢游泳。
今天下午他不愿意去游泳。
特别注意
有些动词/介词,跟v-ing作宾语,是主动形式表被动意义。如:need, want, require, deserve, worth
The flowers needs / want / require watering.
Several other points deserve mentioning.
The movie is worth watching.
need/want/require/deserve doing
= need/want/require/deserve to be done
用括号内动词的正确形式填空。
1. Lily dreams of ________ (become) a famous actress.
2. I can't help ________ (feel) that there has been a mistake.

二、v-ing作表语
1. 动名词作表语
多表示抽象性的概念或习惯性的动作,一般说明主语的内容,相当于名词。如: 
His favorite thing is playing the guitar.
My job is teaching English.
v-ing作表语
2. 现在分词作表语多表示主语的性质或特征。相当于形容词,往往可译为“令人…的”。
The argument is very convincing.
这一论据很令人信服。
特别注意
现在分词作表语时,系动词有
五感:look, sound, taste, ,smell, feel
五变:become, turn, get, go, grow
三保持:keep, remain, stay
两个似乎seem, appear
一个be:be
What he says sounds more convincing.
