Child: Mom, I really need to use my phone for an extra 30 minutes tonight. This online course video is crucial for my math assignment due tomorrow.
Mom: Again? You said the same thing yesterday but ended up playing games. I can’t let you waste more time.
Child: I promise this is for study! Let’s set a timer. If I get distracted by anything else, you can take my phone for two days. And I’ll show you the assignment progress after finishing.
Dad: That sounds manageable. We’ll trust you this time, but you have to keep your word. Also, starting next week, let’s agree on a fixed daily screen time—2 hours total, with 1.5 hours for study and 30 minutes for relaxation.
Child: Deal! Thank you for understanding. I’ll stick to the schedule.
