This passage describes Meng Hao’s experiences and feelings on the first day at senior high from four stages. Before going to school, he was in his eagerness to get to know his school, so he got up early and rushed out of the door. After arriving at school, he curiously explored the campus. Turning around, he saw a white-haired man, who was recognized as his English teacher during the English class. When introducing himself, he was so nervous and embarrassed because Meng Hao shared the same name with his English teacher, which made his classmates laugh. The old man educated them that challenges at senior high would put them under pressure so they should learn to keep calm and be prepared. After the class, Meng Hao felt confident about his new start at senior high because he believed “Well begun is half done”.

My first day at senior high was impressive. Before going to school, I woke up so early to get everything ready and was in my great eagerness to embrace my new life at senior high. When arriving at school, there were so many students who took pictures happily with their parents. After the registration(登记), I was guided to the classroom, where I met my form teacher(班主任). He welcomed us with a big smile and told us that you might meet with different challenges later, but just keep calm and be prepared to defeat them. Also, he generously said we could feel free to ask him for help when necessary. Hearing this, I felt inspired and confident about my new school life at senior high.
