First, it has a long history—dating back to around 2000 BCE! Ancient people used stone tools called bian to press body areas, and later these evolved into metal needles, which are now mostly made of stainless steel.
Second, the treatment starts with a careful diagnosis: acupuncturists check your skin, tongue, breath, and especially your pulse, which links to body organs.
It’s truly a wonderful part of Chinese culture and it’s definitely worth learning more about!
