Analysis of the students
What Ss have known: Students have learned some words about showing difficulties in the previous unit. Besides, they have learned the basic structure of an advice letter. Before this lesson, they had already previewed the lesson and learned by themselves, so they knew how to skim and scan for the main and specific information in the reading material.
Possible difficulties: They do not have enough knowledge (words, expressions, and sentence patterns) on how to clearly state their biggest problems and reasonable advice when writing a blog about English study and some of them even make grammar mistakes in their writing.
What they want to know: Some words, expressions, and sentence patterns can be used to show students’ learning problems and give suitable advice for the difficulties mentioned above.
