My Unforgettable Volunteering Experience
Last summer vacation, I volunteered at a local animal shelter with my classmates. It was a meaningful experience that taught me a lot.
Our main tasks were to feed the homeless pets, clean their cages, and play with them. At first, I was nervous to approach the shy dogs, but with the staff’s help, I gradually got close to them. Some cats were afraid of strangers, so we tried to calm them down by talking softly. Seeing them wag their tails happily made all our efforts worthwhile. I also learned to take responsibility for small lives.
This experience showed me that volunteering is not just about helping others, but also about growing ourselves. I’m eager to take part in more such activities.
