Treasure Our Library Books:AShared Responsibility
Recently, it has been noticed that many books in our school library are marked with pens or even
damaged, which seriously affects other students'reading experience. What worries us most is that such
behavior shows a lack of respect for public resources.
As students, we should always remember that library books are shared treasures. It is our
responsibility to keep them clean and complete for everyone to use. If everyone takes good care of them, our
library will remain a wonderful place for learning.微
Let's act together—return books on time, avoid any marking, and remind others to do the same.A small
effort from each of us can make a big difference.
Paragraph 1:As I turned to leave, two police officers pulled up in a patrol car: As I turned to leave,
two police officers pulled up in a patrol car. They stepped out and approached the cow, which backed away
skittishly, its gentle eyes wide with alarm. I quickly explained how I had found it wandering, adding that my
childhood on a farm might help. The officers, noting the dragging rope, agreed to assist. With careful steps,
they managed to calm the nervous animal, while I held the rope to prevent it from bolting.
Paragraph 2:We tied the rope to a tree and discussed what to do with the cow. We tied the rope to a
tree and discussed what to do with the cow. One officer suggested calling animal control, but I insisted on
checking for a tag first. Only then did we spot a worn collar hidden under its fur. Anxious to reunite it with
its owner,we called the number engraved on the tag. To our relief, a local farmer soon arrived, explaining
the cow had escaped from a small hobby farm. With the cow safely secured, I waved goodbye, hurrying
back to Lila with a heart warmed by the happy ending.微信

Text 10
Hello, everybody. Thanks for your consistent support for our weekly meeting—New Books Sharing.
Today, we've invited Dr. Casper Melville, lecturer from the University of London. Dr. Melville started out as
a music journalist for a black music magazine called Blues and Soul.In 1992, he moved to San Francisco,
and founded ajazz magazine named On the One with some friends. They did a really good job though there
was not a lot of money in it. In 1997,he moved back to London and started teaching, and made the decision
to find another way to write about music. He grew up in London. He feels that the music in London clubs
has formed him, but unfortunately, it has been seriously undervalued by the academic world. In black music
studies, jazz has received great attention, but dance music has been largely ignored. His book, It's a London
Thing, is meant to change that situation. So,let's welcome Dr.Melville to share with us his ideas in the book.

words”。 故选A。
misconceptions”,即纠正学生的错误观念,并具体说明学生常认为“Iearning can't be fun”和“what they
learn isn't relevant to the real world”。
让学生进行实验,“to see how friction works in real-life applications”。
解,但“quickly learned that the practice also helped me build stronger relationships with them”。
故选A。
A。
故选A。
B项“Probably the latter is true”
E项“Your eyes were engaged, but your mind was
C项“Don't just read the words; think the ideas”进一步强调“要用脑思考而
F项“Then, start denying yourself the
right..”

解析:固定结构“wait for sb./sth. to do”,此处为
