Three Gorges Dam
Aswan Dam
On July 21, 1970, engineers completed the Aswan Dam in southern Egypt. The Aswan Dam was an extremely large project, lasting more than 10 years and costing more than a billion dollars.
The Aswan Dam controls the flow (泛滥) of the Nile River. The dam protects people living near the banks of the Nile from both floods and drought. It also provides electricity used in homes, schools, businesses, and hospitals throughout Egypt.

The title suggests the text is about how people have solved problems, because they are going “from” the problems “to” solutions. The pictures show some ancient statues. They might be from Egypt. The large faces look as though they have been moved from where they first were. Perhaps the problem is related to this.
