My Favourite Scientist
Of so many famous scientists all over the world, I admire Yuan Longping most, who is an agricultural scientist of China.
In 1973, he became the first agricultural pioneer in the world to grow rice that enabled farmers to expand their output greatly. Though he achieved his goal, he still devoted himself to research on rice so as to feed more people in the world. Yuan Longping made such great contributions to mankind that he is respected and admired by people all over the world.
All in all, we must learn from Yuan Longping in order to serve our country better when we grow up.

Recently, our class had a heated discussion about the issue of chemical farming and organic farming. Different students hold different views.
Students who are in favour of chemical farming maintain that it has a number of benefits to do it. To begin with, they think crops grown with chemical fertilizers usually grow faster than those of organic farming and are high in production, thus relieving the starvation problem around the world. In addition,Chemical farming is a great way to fight crop disease and make crops look beautiful on the outside.While those who are greatly opposed to chemical farming argue that organic farmers use natural waste from animals as fertilizer,making the soil rich in minerals, and in turn they protect the environment,nevertheless, not only do chemical pesticides kill insects but some crucial minerals.More importantly,organic food is generally more nutritious than food grown with man-made chemicals, avoiding damage to the environment or to people’s health.
From my point of view, it is worthwhile to advocate organic farming. It can not only promote the development of society but also enrich our life.

As we all know,body language is as important as spoken language.Now I'm writing to tell you something about body language.
When people communicate, they unconsciously use body language.If your friend is sad, a smile might be more useful than words. But different countries have different body language. So learning proper body language will make your communication with others more enjoyable.Usually we communicate with people using words and body language. Body language varies from culture to culture. For example, in Japan, someone who witnesses another person employing the gesture “OK” might think it means money while in France, a person may interpret it as meaning zero.
In a word, body language is as important as words in expressing feelings. Learning proper body language is good for our communication.
