包含一个主句和一个或一个以上从句的句子叫复合句,从句由从属连词引导。
Whether he will come is not clear.

在句子中起名词作用的从句，包括：
主语从句
宾语从句
表语从句
同位语从句
解题技巧一：
选择正确的连接词，就要判断语义。
解题技巧二：
从句为陈述性语序，即：
连接词
主语
谓语
解题技巧三：
时态一致
此题考查主语从句。括号内所给中文“他所需要的”在句中作主语，由what引导的主语从句往往表示“…… 东西(事情)或什么……”，根据主句谓语动词was可知从句应用一般过去时。故此题答案为What he needed。
例1

What he needed
本题考查宾语从句的用法。句首出现know，而后面又是带有主谓的句子，所以就确定这是一个宾语从句；而宾语从句用的是陈述句的语序，“能否”也就是“是否”，用whether，或者if，故答案为if/whether we can finish the work tomorrow。

此题考查同位语从句，由“the news”可知that后面引导的是同位语从句，同位语从句中从句部分需要用陈述语序，且主句部分时态为一般过去时，从句部分也应用相应过去时，故答案为our school team had won the match/game。

此题考查主语从句．由“It is reported that…”句型可知It作形式主语，that后面引导的是主语从句，从句跟前面主句时态保持一致，用一般将来时，故此题答案为the super star will come here.

此题考查宾语从句。括号内所给中文“他要买台新电脑”是told的宾语，在句中作宾语从句，the next Friday 表将来的时间，从句要用将来时，宾语从句应与主句时态保持一致，使用过去将来时，故此题答案为(that)he would buy a new computer。
