People often ask what the weather is like in Australia. The answer is that
it changes a lot！ Why？ That’s because Australia is a medium－sized
country， and the weather in different parts of the country is different.
The weather in the northern parts of Australia is warm to hot all year
round because they’re close to the equator. In the north， summer is also the
rainy season.
The areas along the coast around Sydney are warm in winter with the
lowest temperatures of about 10℃ to 16℃. Summer there is warmer and the
temperature is about 26℃.

However， if you think all parts of the country are warm all year
round， you’ll be inaccurate. Some areas in Australia are very cold during
the winter. When we say “cold”， we don’t mean the cold is like that of the

How many seasons do you have in a year？ Do you know the North
Pole（北极）？ Near the North Pole， there are only two seasons： winter
and summer. In winter， nights are long. For several months， you can’t see
the sun， even at noon. In summer， days are long. For a long time， the
sun never sets and there is no night at all.

The temperature is very low near the North Pole. In summer the
temperature is below（低于） 0℃， so people there wear warm clothes all
