Spring is in the air. This morning, the temperature was 10°C in my city. It reached 15°C this afternoon. It was quite warm. I don't need my heavy winter coat or boots now! On my way to school, I saw some winter jasmine blossoming. People believe the blossom of this flower always tells the coming of spring, so we call winter jasmine “the welcoming-spring flower”.

2. The spring thunder wakes insects up from their sleep.
wake… up 意为“叫醒；唤醒”，是及物动词短语。必须接宾语，强调“使某人或某物从睡眠中醒来”。注意：如果宾语是代词(如 me, him, her 等) ，代词要放在wake 和up 中间；如果是名词，可放中间或后面。
wake up 为不及物动词短语时，表示“醒来；活跃起来”。
e.g. The singing of the birds woke me up early this morning.

in the air 的一词多义：
(1) 表示“(某种气氛) 弥漫；存在”(指抽象的感觉、情绪或消息在周围传播)
(2) 表示“在空中”(指具体物体悬浮、飘在空中) up in the air 表示“悬而未决”(指事情还没有确定，处于待定状态)
e.g. There was excitement in the air before the school trip.
学校旅行前，空气中都弥漫着兴奋的气息。

派对的日期还没定下来。
on one’s way to... 表示“在某人去……的路上；在某人前往……途中”，to 是介词，后面接表示地点/ 活动场所的名词(短语) 。若后面接的是副词则要省略to，如on my way home 在我回家的路上。

她在去学校的路上遇到了一位老朋友。

see sth. doing... 表示“看见某物正在做……；看见某物处于进行某种动作的状态”，强调看到动作正在发生。
e.g. I saw a bird flying in the sky. 我看见一只鸟正在天空飞。
6. People believe the blossom of this flower always tells the coming of spring, so we call winter jasmine “the welcoming-spring flower”.
call 称呼 call sb. sth. 称某人为某物
e.g. We call our teacher "Mr. Sunshine".

e.g. The band performed their new song on the stage.
这支乐队在舞台上表演了他们的新歌。

“There is/are going to be +主语+其他.”是there be句型的一般将来时表达，表示“某地/某时将会有某事/某物。”
e.g. There is going to be a meeting tomorrow.
