Many serious accidents happen in people’s homes. The kitchen and the bathroom are the two most dangerous places in the house.
Can people prevent certain accidents Yes. Many accidents happen because people are careless. So be careful!
Safety tips in the kitchen
● Be careful with fire and boiling water when you cook.
● Have fire blankets, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms,
and flashlights near the kitchen.
● Always turn off the oven or stove after use. In case
of a gas leak, do not use a cell phone or any electric
item. Immediately turn off the stove and quickly open
a window. Move to a safe area to inform emergency
services and the gas company.
Some things catch fire easily. Don’t put them near the stove!

Safety tips in the bathroom
● Never use electricity in the shower or bathtub. It can
shock you!
● Be sure to keep the bathroom floor dry after you
take a shower or bath. It’s easy to slip and fall on a wet
floor.
● Turn on the cold water first when taking a bath.
Then adjust the hot water to ensure a safe water
temperature. Hot water can burn you.
Home safety focuses on preventing accidents and
reacting well to dangers in order to protect the safety of the family.

2. Be careful with fire and boiling water when you cook.
be careful with/of... 意为“小心……;当心……”,后接名词或代词。
be careful about... 意为“注意;慎重”,后接名词或代词。
be careful to do sth. 意为“仔细做某事”。
e.g. She told her brother to be careful with hot water.
她告诉弟弟小心热水。
Be careful of the broken glass on the ground.
小心地上的碎玻璃。
She always reminds me to be careful about what I eat.
她总是提醒我注意饮食。
He is careful to check his homework for mistakes.

boil 的一词多义:(1) v.(液体) 沸腾;煮沸(液体) ;煮(食物) 。
(2) n. 沸腾;沸点。
相关词形:(1) boiling adj. 极热的
(2) boiled adj. 煮沸的;煮熟的(常修饰食物)
e.g. When the soup boils, we can add some vegetables.

smoke 的一词多义:(1) n. 烟;香烟;抽烟

9. It’s easy to slip and fall on a wet floor.

分析结构: 这是一个简单句。It 作形式主语,谓语是is,形容词easy 作表语,动词不定式to slip and fall on a wet floor 作真正的主语,表示具体的行为。其中on a wet floor 作地点状语。
