Which do you think is the best way to communicate with your friends, talk face to face, make a phone call or send messages on the Internet
Many people today love using phones more than staying with friends and talking face to face. So, most of their “friends” are on the Internet. When you take the subway or bus, you can easily see people sending messages. They may feel happy, bored or surprised when reading friends’ replies. They may never meet these online “friends” in real life, but they still feel glad, thinking their friends are everywhere.
However, some people say online friends are not the same as real ones. Real friends do more than send messages or emojis (表情符号). They care for you when you have trouble and need help. For example, if you are in hospital, seeing friends visit you makes you happier than just getting messages. If you do badly in a subject, studying side by side with friends warms your heart more than a simple “come on” online.
True friends may disagree sometimes, but they will help each other when times are hard. After years together, they never really leave you. This is what makes them different from online friends. We don’t have to say no to online friendships, but we should spend more time with real friends face to face. After all, the best friendships are the ones we can feel and touch in daily life.
31.How does the writer start the passage
A.By giving examples. B.By asking a question. C.By imagining a situation.

A.Friends. B.Emojis. C.Messages.
34.What is the main idea of the third paragraph
A.Online friends can make people happy.
B.Real friends offer more real care and help.
C.People should send more emojis to friends.
35.What does the writer want to tell us
A.Make more friends online.
B.Depend more on online friends for daily chatting.
C.Value face-to-face time with real friends more.
Frogs are interesting animals that can live both in water and on land. They have smooth, wet skin, strong back legs for jumping, and big eyes that can see in many directions.
A frog’s life starts in water as a small egg. The egg hatches (孵化) into a tadpole. The tadpole has a tail but no legs. Slowly, the tadpole grows legs, loses its tail, and grows lungs to breathe air. This big change is called metamorphosis (变态). It is one of the most amazing changes in nature.
Frogs play an important role in our environment. First, they can tell us if the environment is healthy; their skin is thin and can absorb (吸收) water and air easily. This means they are very sensitive (敏感的) to dirty water and air. If frogs start to disappear, it often means the environment has problems. Second, frogs help control (控制) insects. They eat many harmful insects like mosquitoes (蚊子) and farm pests. This helps keep the number of insects in balance.
Today, many kinds of frogs are in danger. They are losing their homes because forests and wetlands are disappearing. Water pollution and climate change are also big problems. We need to protect frogs. We can protect their homes and keep water clean. When we help frogs, we help keep our planet healthy and full of different kinds of life. Frogs are not just interesting animals—they are important for our world.
36.Which of the following is TRUE about frogs according to the passage
A.Frogs can only live on land.
B.Frogs can help us know if the environment is healthy.

A.Tadpole—egg—frog. B.Egg—frog—tadpole. C.Egg—tadpole—frog.
38.What will probably happen if the frogs start to disappear
A.The environment may get worse.
B.The plants and crops will grow better.
C.The number of the harmful insects may get smaller.
39.Which is the right structure of the passage (P=Paragraph)
A. B. C.
40.What can we infer from the underlined sentences in the passage
A.Protecting frogs helps protect the earth’s ecosystem.
B.Frogs can build a comfortable living environment for humans.
C.Protecting all frogs is the only way to make the planet healthy.

Tonya and Jack quickly jumped into the water. They worked together to cut the net carefully. Finally, the baby orca was free! It swam around them happily, then swam back to its family in the deep sea.
A few weeks later, a strong storm came. The wind was loud, and the waves were high. Suddenly a very big wave hit their boat. Tonya fell into the cold water, holding a piece of wood. She was afraid and called for help. Jack and their friends had no idea how to help her because of the strong storm.
Suddenly, she saw a black fin in the water. It was the baby orca! Three big orcas were with it. They didn’t hurt Tonya. Instead, the baby orca gently pushed the wood with its nose. The big orcas helped too. They guided the wood toward the beach.
