一、基数词的概念
基数词
基数词(cardinal number)是描述事物数量多少的词。
① Four students are playing volleyball outside.
② There are 20 desks in the classroom.
③ I have two brothers and one sister.
四名学生正在外面打排球。
教室里有20张课桌。
我有两个哥哥和一个妹妹。
0～12为基本单词:
zero one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve
13-19为对应的个位数单词(或变形)后加-teen:
thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen nineteen
二、基数词的构成
20、30、... 90为其对应个位数单词(或变形)后加-ty:
twenty thirty forty fifty sixty
seventy eighty ninety
21～99的两位数，十位与个位之间用连字符"-"。
21 twenty-one 99 ninety-nine
101～999的三位数，百位数和十位数（若无十位数则和个位数）之间用and连接，百后用单数形式。

三、基数词的用法
1. 基数词可用于名词之前表示数量。
① I have three pencils.
② There two dogs in the yard.
2. 基数词可用于名词之后表示顺序。

一、序数词的概念
序数词
序数词(ordinal number)是表示 “顺序第几” 的词。
① Women's Day is on the eighth of March.
② Our flat is on the seventh floor.
③ He is always the first to arrive at school in our class.
妇女节是三月的第八天。
我们的公寓在七楼。
他是我们班上第一个到学校的人。
1) 一般来说，是由相应的基数词加词尾th构成。

2) 有些基数词在变为序数词时，有特殊的变化。

二、序数词的构成
3) 20、30、... 90，十位整数序数词的构成方法是将基数词的词尾y变成i，然后再加eth。

4) 20以上两位或两位以上的基数词变成序数词时，仅将个位数变成序数词。

1. 序数词前常用定冠词the或物主代词，有时也可用不定冠词或零冠词。
三、序数词的用法
① Today is the second of March.
② This is my first visit to Shanxi.
③ Their horse came third in the race last year.
今天是三月二日。
这是我第一次到山西。
他们的马在去年的比赛中获得了第三名。
2. 序数词用来表示日期。也可以用基数词来表示，但要读作序数词。
National Day is October 1st/1.
3. 编号可以用基数词或序数词来表示。序数词位于名词之前，前面要加定冠词the，而基数词位于名词之后，且名词和基数词的首字母都要大写。
