Teaching Procedures
Step1. Warming-up
1. Greeting: Greet the ss and have a brief chat about the weather and their food today.
2. Lead-in: Show some pictures of different activities on the PPT, such as playing badminton, cooking food, going swimming etc.
Ask the ss: "What are these activities Do you like to do them on weekends " Then ask a few ss to share their favorite weekend activities.
Justification: To ask proper questions for ss to make sure the logic be smooth.
Step 2. Presentation
1. New words and phrases.
Present the new words and phrases in the unit by showing the pictures and doing actions.
2. Sentence patterns.
Present the sentence patterns: "How was your weekend What did you do " on the PPT. Explain the usage of the simple past tense.
Justification: Key sentence patterns must be listed on the blackboard.
Step3. Listening practice
1. 1b. Play the recording of the 2 conversations.Before listening, ask the ss to read the questions in 1b.
2. 1c: Play the recording again. Have the ss listen and write P for Peter or TF for Teng Fei for each activity.
Step 4. Pair work
1. Have the ss talk about one of the conversations in 1b with a partner using the sentence patterns "How was …'s weekend It was … ."
Step 5. Pronunciation
1. Listen and repeat.
Play the recording of the pronunciation part. Have the ss listen and repeat the words. Ask the ss to notice the differences in the pronunciation of the letters and letter combination.
2. -(e)d pronunciation
Play the recording of the -(e)d pronunciation. Have the Ss listen and repeat the words. Explain the rules of the -(e)d pronunciation.
Step 6.: Summary and Homework
Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the new words, phrases, sentence patterns and pronunciation rules. Ask ss to write a short passage.
Justification: Summary should be in lined with the objectives.

Teaching Reflection:
In this class, I have found that the sentence pattern isn't difficult to learn, but the activities aren't many. So we should pay more attention to the kinds of activities. Especially when ss don't have such experience. We can enrich them with the information.

Ss will be able to understand and use adjective to describe the school trip.
2. Learn
Ss will master the key vocabulary such as "wastewater plant", "germ", "piece" and "step".

Cultivate ss' interest in exploring the unknown and learning new knowledge.

Let ss understand the differences and similarities in school trips between different cultures.

Step1. Warming-up
1. Greet the ss and have a free talk. Ask ss if they have ever been on a school trip and what they remember most about it.
Justification: If pictures are not perfect try to use another way.
2. Show some pictures of different places and ask SS to guess where they are.
Step 2. Presentation
1. Play the audio of 2a for the first time. Ss just listen and try to get the main idea.
2. Play the audio again. Ss listen and fill in the blanks with the correct adjectives.
3. Present the summary of the conversation in 2C on the PPT. Ss read it together and understand the cleaning process of the wastewater plant.
Step3. Practice
1. Play the audio of 2a for the first time. Ss listen and pay attention to the pronunciation of "was, wasn't, did and didn't”.
2. Ask ss to role-play the conversation in pairs. One acts as Helen and the other acts as Fu Xing.
Encourage them to imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
3. Invite several pairs to perform in front of the class and give positive feedback.
Step4 Production
1. Show some pictures of different places (such as a theatre, factory, zoo, museum.) on the PPT, and ask ss to choose one place they want to talk about.
Justification: Monitor their pair-work in case someone talk about sth irrelevant.
2. Ss work in pairs and have a conversation about a school trip they took to the chosen place. Use the sentence patterns: "How was your school trip " and "It was… Where did you go "
3. Circulate around the classroom to provide guidance and support.
4. Invite around the classroom to provide guidance and share with the whole class.

1. Summarize the key points of this lesson, including vocabulary, sentence patterns, and the process of turning dirty water.
2. Assign homework: Preview the next part of the unit.

Step 2. Work on 2a.
1. Introduce the GF by explaining the concept of the simple past tense, emphasizing that it is used to talk about actions that happened at a specific time in the past.
2. Write on the board a few example sentences and highlight the verbs in the simple past tense and the time expressions.
3. Read the sentences in 3a. Ask ss to read the sentences, circle the verbs in the simple past tense and underline the time expressions.
4. After completing SS will compare answers in pairs and discuss any discrepancies.
Justification: Read the sentences together to learn the GF.
Step3. Work on 3b.
1. Put the words in order. Write the sentences using the correct tenses. Do exercise 1 as a model in class. I saw my favorite actor in a film.
2. Ss write the sentences individually. Ask some ss to write their answers.
Step4. Work on 3C.
1. Ask ss to write the past form of each verb in the box.
2. Have ss read the passage and fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the verbs in the box.
Step5. Work on 3d.
1. Pair ss up and ask them to use the simple past tense to ask and answer questions about what activities they did yesterday.
2. After the pair work, select a few pairs to share the conversations with the class.
